Now I'm on the fence. I ordered two fruit baskets (see photos: this white one and a red one) to use for storing potatoes -- they're two very different styles, both roomy enough for lots of potatoes, allowing the potatoes to be surrounded by air. I like both of them and can't decide which one to keep, so I'll keep both and switch them around from time to time. The weight of the white one is a bit of an issue because, with the weight of the potatoes added to the bowl's weight, it will be harder to lift on and off the microwave (where it's sitting), and I have to do that lifting whenever I use the microwave (because of the heat) and whenever I want to open the cupboard door behind it. The red one weighs considerably less. Weight is an issue for me because I'm old and have weak, arthritic hands. To give you an idea of how much the white bowl holds, there are seven very big baking potatoes in it (see photo) and there's plenty of room for at least three more. Not sure how that translates to fruit, but I think it would hold a lot of fruit. The red bowl has eight large potatoes in it. Both are well-made. Decisions, decisions.... ... show more
