As long as you go into it understanding it's a < $40 mixer, then you'll enjoy this sound board. No, it's not a Mackie or Roland or Shure or Sennheiser or even Audio Technica. What it lacks in name or build quality, it makes up for as a great entry into podcasting/mixing for young kids. It's got lots of bright lights and different colors and sounds! No there aren't a bajillion pots or knobs or input/outputs. But despite the "professional" on the case, this is clearly not for professionals. The sound quality is good. The effects are fun. There's enough adjustments your kid can make to really get their toes wet playing with a mixer. And if you turn your 7-year-old loose with it like I did, you're not going to cry too hard over the cost if this thing gets accidentally broken. It's a greater starter set. ... show more

I ordered this because my son wanted it for video games. It's not a toy, that's for sure. It takes knowing what you're doing to actually get it set up but once you do, it's really cool. My husband had to set it up with his computer but it comes with the proper instructions that show you how. I'm just not really tech savvy. Once it was ready to go, it has tons of different noises and sound effects. This soundboard can mix music. It's great for podcasts and recording videos. My son uses it for his video games in VR. I can't believe how affordable it was. I honestly thought it was a toy because of the price. This is perfect for anyone who records music or has a YouTube channel.
