Color: Classic Black
I was skeptical because I am between sizes. I often am too small for “plus size” clothing and then too big for “standard size” anything. Ones I’ve tried before were too big that they would bag down to my knees BUT THESE DONT. They stay up at my upper thigh (can go higher than photos) but they are still stretchy enough that if I wanted to (for example) I could wear stockings or even leggings under for extra warmth. And surprisingly the elastic thigh band, fits really well!!! Super comfy, warm, soft, I really like them. Will be buying more for sure. For reference I am 5’2, 195lbs and my hips are 45in ... show more

  • Work for straight sized people too
Color: Snow White
I was hesitant to buy these because my thighs are only about 23" around at the thickest part, but I wanted some thigh highs that were comfy and slouchy. All the straight sized ones are so tight. These fit me perfectly. If my thighs were any smaller they probably wouldn't stay up well, but they don't really slide down on me and they're so comfortable and cute. I've bought two colors and will probably buy more. ... show more

  • Best option out there so far, far from perfect…
Color: Mustard Yellow
Before starting, I’ve written a few reviews of socks like these and some elements are copy/pasted, but this review *is* unique to this product. As someone with larger features who wears a lot of thigh high socks in a ribbed athletic knit from a couple of the big brands out there, and who has experience with five of these TT clones from four different Amazon stores, these are near the top but aren’t without shortcomings. First, when you unbox them (especially if you’re familiar with the straight tube of mainstream brands and rumors these plus size thigh highs that flooded the market are baggy at the ankles) you’ll have some anxiety about the weird bag and taper near the ankle. This is actually a good thing and is part of a redesign to make them tighter at the ankle. Figure 1a and 1b (ignore the arrow for now) shows that while the loose sock is lumpy and very weird, on the leg it is smooth with no bagginess. There’s direct and indirect natural lighting to illustrate how the dye reacts. Plus. Second, they are looser than mainstream thigh highs which is a mixed bag. I really appreciated not having to wrestle myself into them. They’re easy on and easy off, and went all the way up to my groin (5’10” height). Being less tight means they’re less snug however and tend to slide down. I put the sock on one leg to go out to the patio and capture Figure 1, and between there and bringing the board back inside, they were already sliding down. Figure 2 illustrates how much they slid down in this very brief period compared to where they were at the start. This is quite a bit of motion so soon, but not the worst I’ve experienced with a different competitor on the market. I’m (24”) on the low end of plus size thigh circumference rated in the description (27”) so I may not have had enough volume to fill them out and generate good tension to keep them up. Plus and Minus. I never used the garter belt, but it appeared identical to the garters I’d received from the other three brands I’ve used. I also know how they work, they’ll give some holding power but at the cost of an unsightly bulge where the garters are, and a lack of real options for how wide you’d like to make the cuff. In my experience your best results for function will come from a 1” cuff with the socks folded twice over the garter, but that makes it a thick ring. I prefer a 2 or 3” cuff, but when the garter slides (and it will slide) it’ll mangle your cuff and be difficult to “just pull back up.” I’ve used the garters before with other socks. I’m sorry I didn’t use them on this pair for this review. But I already know how they’ll perform. They’ll do the job, but are kind of a pain. **PRO TIP** I managed to get the same hold-up performance without using the garter belts. Find some of your scratchiest, poorest quality pantyhose. You know the kind, the ones that already have those horizontal lines and defects right out of the “egg.” Like 100% nylon with no lycra, a dull finish, and no glossy sheen or silky smoothness. Wear those underneath and put the socks over top. The roughness of the pantyhose makes a good surface for the socks to get traction and the frictional forces help hold them up better than if they just slid down your smooth leg or smoother higher quality tights. This option still had some sliding down, but no more than I have gotten *with* the garter belts (Note: referring to typical garter performance on other brands - Moon Wood wasn’t tested explicitly with belts here), and the result was a more comfortable wear and smoother appearance. Figures 3a and 3b demonstrate average sag using rough pantyhose with *no* garter belts. They occasionally need pulled back up, but typically only fell as low as shown throughout the day. The only point I got them down to my knees involved running down a hallway pushing a deep freezer. I’ll give them a pass under high impact performance. Let’s do some comparisons. In Figure 4 we have Moon Wood’s Mustard Yellow alongside Competitor A’s burgundy and Competitor B’s fuchsia. I had found Competitor B’s sock to be pretty decent in most metrics, but extremely wrinkled (still have not gotten these wrinkles out, btw), and so soft and smooth they were silky against the leg. Silky = slippery and very hard to keep up. Both Competitor A’s and Moon Wood’s were not so velvety and tended to stay up better than Competitor B. Note the line highlighted by the arrow in Fig 4. Every pair of this type of plus size TT clone I’ve gotten from Amazon has a line between the knee and the ankle. It could be from flat packing, but the socks in shipment are not vacuum sealed and are bundled quite loosely without a hard crease. I suspect it has something to do with the construction and changing the compression along the leg so to avoid the “baggy sweatpants ankles” common to early versions of these socks on the market. Competitor B’s sock still had the crease when it’s worn on the leg. Moon Wood also has it, but it’s much less prominent than Competitor B; unfortunately, Competitor A’s line was almost invisible when worn on the leg (not pictured). With Moon Wood, the line is still quite visible on the leg (Revisit Fig 1b, arrow). This is a minus against some of the competition, but pretty common in my experience. Moon Wood is still near the top, but not everything is great. The socks had a few quality control and manufacturing errors. I found a misplaced stitch on a knee (Fig 5a) that’s not overtly noticeable without making close scrutiny, and it can probably be relocated to the inside by pulling the thread tight and leaving the loose loop on the inner surface. What’s much more obvious is the very loose thread near the top of the sock which is right in the middle of the cuff on the front side (Fig 5b). It’s front and center and unless I take care to fold it inside the cuff, it’s an obvious defect that will draw attention. I didn’t notice until this review, but it’s also in the shot for Figure 2, left inset. While I boasted of Competitor A’s better handling of “the line,” it was also loaded with quality defects much more egregious than Moon Wood. Moon Wood is better, but that these flaws are present at all is still a minus. Even if they were perfect, these socks might be worth their listing price at $18 USD. But when they bear these quality control issues that should ordinarily classify them as “irregulars” and are sold as a premium product, that’s a disappointment; and Moon Wood’s asking price of $18 is a little steep for what they deliver. Minus. All in all, despite these flaws Moon Wood is in the Top 2 of producers I’ve tried. Between Moon Wood and Competitor A, I would probably *choose* to buy from Competitor A again (and actually did), but in practice would most likely buy from Moon Wood because they have more color options and I’ve gotten every variant I would want already offered by Competitor A’s limited selection. My advice, buy. But keep an eye on the listings and hold out for a deep discount or coupon closer to $10 than $18 for a better value ratio. I hope this review is complete and helpful to anyone unsure of where to buy. Happy thigh highs! The Good: - Holds up better than other brands - Thigh garters provided - Soft, comfortable wear - Easy to put on and take off - Varied color selection The Bad: - Holding up better does not equal “holds up well” - A bit overpriced, considering… The Ugly: - …Quality control and irregular manufacturing defects present ... show more

  • thick thighs omg
Color: Rusty Pumpkin
So I really liked these socks they're amazing. They're soft. They're lightweight. They're not too thick even though they feel sick they are not. I love the fact that they come with a gutter belt to hold them in place on the thighs all in all the socks are amazing. The only downside about these socks are, although they are not overly thick they are too thick for certain shoes like boots and certain slip on flats other than that I recommend the socks or 10 out of 10. ... show more

Color: Grey
They were nice and soft. The socks fit up thighs great with minimal rolling without the thigh garter. I love that the socks came with the thigh garters. They didn't move at all

  • Fix them please :'c
Color: Classic Black
Ok I'm going to start out by saying this is going to be a little bit of a longer review maybe. It will include not the most flattering picture of my thigh LOL but I feel like since there are like barely any plus size thigh highs the more info the better. I wish I could love these. The quality of the weave feels really nice and I think it could keep you warm. That being said I don't know what they were thinking with this pattern when they made it. The ankle is super super baggy but like only in the ankle part so it looks really weird I included a picture of when I had it pinned (spoiler alert I kept them because I know how to sew and this was the only option I had haha) but that was all extra fabric that I didn't even pull tightly it was barely pulled just enough to make the shape look normal. Looking at them it's just like a long tube for the leg so there's no definition at the ankle. I guess that's good if you have thicker ankles like shout out to my cankle Queens but even then it should be a little tighter there so it looks a little more flattering. Before you think, "hey, maybe a slouchy ankle look would be cute kind of leg warmer vibes" it's not enough material there to make that look good it's like just enough to make it look weird. I have big thighs (as I assume you do too since you're looking at the reviews) and while the garters feel well made, I think these might be for standard sizes versus plus size. When I put them on they really cut into my thighs, and that's fine if it's just a bit because you kind of need some pressure to keep them up, but this is another level. I feel like my thigh is going to be made into a sausage link lol the description says that you should fit someone with a bigger thigh than me, yeah would only fit if it was just a sock? Or are we/they supposed to just have them fall down? I would have to attach to garters together and adjust that way to have them fit comfortably enough to leave on all day. To fix this issue they could put another set of garters to extend them or put new ones because these would only fit the smaller end of the plus size spectrum or s-2x?. I think what annoyed me most about that was most of the pictures they showed were people that had super thick thighs comparable to mine and I would have to do a bunch of adjustments to get them to work. Like I shouldn't have to pay double the price of a straight size and still have to sew them or get additional garters/elastic to make them work. This product clearly states that it would fit me and people bigger than me but that would only work in theory because sure you could wear them without the garters and sure they fit but they roll down with any movement because there is no elastic at the top it's just the end of the weave. I made sure to attach a picture of the measurement of my thigh where the garter was placed to show they were within limit haha So what's the deal? What did I do with them? I kept them. As I type, there aren't many options for actual big thighs, and since I have some experience sewing I can make the adjustments on the socks myself by pinning off the excess fabric from the ankle and tapering it off to the calf of your leg and sewing along that line. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about the garter situation but honestly I would appreciate if they could send me an extra pair since they don't even work as advertised and that would fix that situation. Until then they are kind of useless or fine for pictures :/ I know a lot of people in the reviews were saying they were happy they included garters as if that was like a bonus item but if they don't even have elastic at the top, they wouldn't be wearable, so I don't really think that something to praise because it's an incomplete item without them. You would 100% need body adhesive without them and that within itself is annoying as heck. I wish I could be part of their team to help them because they are so close to a great product. Wish I had more time to use my nicer camera to take pictures but I tried to take useful ones for all my thick thighed brethren. I'll update if they reach out or try to help. Until then I stare longingly at my socks I wish I could wear and couldn't bring myself to return :'c Update: Dec 26th 2021 They reached out and let me know they are working on an updated design with a tighter ankle and better/thicker/longer garters but it will take ~2 months to get produced or something but they could send another pair of the same ones if I didn't want to wait until then. Since I still kept them I opted to get another pair of the same (maybe I'll get the new design later on but kind of shocked they listened to the critique and really really hope they actually follow through with what they promised) I'm going to link the garters together once I get the second pair so the two become 1 and they then are able to be used as actual thigh highs haha until then still waiting and looking longingly at my socks lol ... show more
