    • A lot of fun, but sometimes hard to follow the instructions

This was out first experience with the plus-plus brand of bulding kits, and we had a lot of fun with it. Having the advent calendar gave us something to look forward to each day, and the little figures are really cute. It wasn't hard to build with the plus-plus blocks, but the instructions sometimes were hard to follow, so we had to undo and redo the build. The kits are nice, because you get enough pieces, that after you have made all the included plans, you can build new things over and over. I would recommend the plus-plus kits to anyone and we look forward to building more of them. ... show more

We love Plus Plus here.. we started with the larger “big” version and have recently started using the original size.. when I saw there was an advent calendar available I was very excited because our children typically enjoy the building advent calendars and this is nothing like we’ve had before. We cracked it open early, doing a few each day to count down to a holiday event at school so our girls could use their builds as Christmas decor in the playroom- I found each day has a different “build” and they are well explained. One thing we have really enjoyed is that the kids can keep the pieces after they finish their holiday builds (and are done displaying them) to add to their collection and reuse again and again. This makes the toy last long after Christmas versus some of the smaller “throw away” type crafts or even chocolates that I’ve bought in the past. Because you’re building the holiday themes the pieces themselves are very generic.. not like the other building advent calendars where they are Santa pieces that limit your play. I plan to purchase this one again, it’s a good value and we’ve had a lot of fun! ... show more

Considering what you get in this set in terms of the number of pieces and different types of things you can build each day as you count down to Christmas, this is a great set for any little one. We ordered it for our nephew whose birthday was at the end of November. He is 8 and has been enjoying this toy every day as he looks forward to discovering a new character or item to build. The pieces are plastic 3D puzzle-type of pieces, not compatible with building systems such as Lego. However my nephew has fun and that's all that matters really. The pieces can be used to construct different pieces than the instructions call for, so the set is versatile enough to be appealing year-round. Recommended ... show more

My son loves unique advent calendar’s for Christmas. It’s always been a tradition. He’s getting older and this one was awesome for him alot of them seem to be for younger kids. Loved it but I think the designs could have been different and the 25th product didn’t make sense to us.

This advent calendar with interlocking mini puzzle blocks is very cute and well made. I like that this building set is with interlocking pieces versus the bricks because it is easier for my 5-year-old to build, and for any other smaller kids that aren't very skilled at building small toys. The figurines are cute, the number of pieces vary from piece to piece but they aren't overly complicated and fairly easy to assemble. I like that this advent calendar is very interactive and that my son will spend time each night building his toy, and overtime, an entire small village. The box is the typical advent calendar box that you punch a hole and get the prize out, just watch out for the number on each box because they aren't in a sequence. These blocks don't snap together like other building sets we've had. It's difficult to keep them together while you are building the set. It is fun to have a new one to build each day but somewhat frustrating.
