  • Awesome Docking Station!
I spent many hours researching and tried a couple of different devices before finding this one. Purchased for the capability of using a USB 3.0 port to connect dual monitors to a MacBook Pro mid-2015 - many other hubs only have a USB-C connection port. Added features of multiple USB ports and and ethernet connection checked off the other things I was looking for. Set up was super easy. It's only been a couple of days, but I'm very happy with this device and would recommend. ... show more

  • Excellent Product and Great Support!
The hub works for all my needs. I have three monitors, camera, speaker mic and other items hooked up to it and it all works as intended. I had an issue and the customer services support I recieved was excellent.

  • Randomly disconnects from monitor in multi monitor setup
Using v1.8.1 (Build 63.180) of their DisplayLink Manager software and it randomly disconnects from one of the monitors in my setup. The monitor will turn back on after unplugging and resetting the unit, but it's pretty distracting to workflow and very annoying when it happens. Edit: Plugable reached out to me to resolve the issue. The fix ended up being to swap the positions of the 2 HDMI cables going into the docking station. Not sure why that fixed it, but I haven't had any disconnection issues for the past 2 days. No problems with this unit now so I've updated my rating. ... show more

  • Great universal docking station
My office is upstairs and I use the work provided docking stations (Dell). Sometimes I work downstairs at the dining table, I will use the Plugable docking station with two portable monitors. I like this Plugable docking station much better than the Dell. The Plugable has plenty of ports. Some reviewers mentioned the cords being loose. I do see it's a little looseness, but it doesn't pull out. ... show more

  • Video Playback - UPDATED
I am updating my review of this unit. I was having issues with video playback. Support contacted me after my initial review here. After running a diagnostic they determined I had to uninstall and run a clean tool to completely remove the driver and then reinstall. After that it is working much better. ... show more

  • Really happy with the purchase.
It had plenty of ports for all the electronics that we attached to the computer.

  • Does a good job.
Works great for connecting multiple screens and allows for using external drives too. It doesn't charge, but other than that it is exactly what I needed.

  • Read this before you spend $180!!!
I purchased this adapter last year and thought it would be a good idea if I wrote a few of the downsides I've encountered since then so potential customers know what they're getting into before they invest on this item. Here is my setup: - Macbook Pro 13 inch M1, 16 GB unified memory, 1 TB SSD Storage - I work with 2 bluetooth devices connected to my Macbook Pro M1. The first is a space gray Magic Keyboard with numeric keypad and a space gray magic mouse 2. - Two 20 inch Dell monitors connected via HDMI to the Plugable UD-6950H docking station. That said, here are some of the downsides I've experienced: - When I return to my computer after stepping away for 5 minutes or more and either closing the lid or leaving the lid open, the arrangement of the windows as I had them laid out changes. The windows move from one desktop to another. For example, if I had Slack in a desktop in external monitor 1, I'll find that it has moved to external monitor 2... That means as soon as I return, I have to spend time rearranging the application windows across my monintors. This is inconvenient and makes me lose time. - After experiencing the point above, I started closing the lid and turning off the Plugable docking station, but I keep getting the same problem. I've gotten used to this issue and I just rearrange the windows... - When the Plugable docking station is placed too close to the computer, it causes intereference with the bluetooth devices I have connected to my Macbook Pro M1. The Magic keyboard starts acting wacky and I can't type correctly and the mouse loses connection to the computer. I contacted Plugable support and they mentioned that is a well-known problem in which USB 3.0 devices cause intereference with Bluetooth devices. They advised me to move the Plugable docking station farther away from the computer and this did solve the problem overall. Since I moved the position of the Plugable device, it has only happened once in a time frame of 4 months so far. Overall, the Plugable docking station works with a Macbook Pro running on an M1 chipset. It's not perfect, as I wrote above, it has its issues, but if you MUST have 2 monitors and you have a Macbook Pro M1 and don't intend of upgradiing to an M1 PRO or M1 MAX antyime soon, this Plugable docking station will allow you to connect 2 monitors. Lastly, I personally think this docking station is OVERPRICED! The first time I saw this adapter, it costs $149 on Amazon and now it's up to $179... It seems to me that Plugable is taking advantage of M1 users that don't have the money to switch to an M1 PRO or M1 MAX and they are milking this cow until Apple eventually adds native support for connecting two monitors on their 1st generation M1 devices if at all... Welcome to the world of free market capitalism! Anyway, I hope this review helps. If you absolutely CAN'T work with only 1 monitor and MUST have 2, this will get the job done, mostly... ... show more
