  • PSVR2: A Smooth Leap into VR
Platform For Display: PlayStation VR2 Color: PlayStation VR2 Bundle (PSVR2)
Stepping into VR with Sony's latest PlayStation VR2, bundled with Horizon Call of The Mountain™, has been a revelation. Coming from a PC VR background, I've been pleasantly surprised by how Sony has leveled up the game with the PS5 and PSVR2. The setup is a breeze compared to the hoops I used to jump through with my PC setup. Honestly, it's almost like comparing apples to oranges when you look at the ease of getting everything up and running. And the graphics? They're nipping at the heels of the Vive Pro 2, which is saying something. For anyone looking to dip their toes into VR waters, I'd nudge you towards this PS5 and PSVR2 combo. It’s the simplicity and ease of setup that really seals the deal for me. It’s as close to plug-and-play as VR has ever been. But it’s not all smooth sailing. There’s a bit of a hiccup with the handheld controllers; they occasionally need a reset to play nice with the games. There’s a tiny reset button you'll need to prod with a pin on the back of the controller. It’s a bit of an annoyance and, frankly, something Sony should've ironed out by now. Hey Sony, it’s time for a fix! Despite this minor gripe, the overall experience has been stellar. The PlayStation VR2, paired with the immersive landscapes of Horizon Call of The Mountain™, offers an entry into VR that’s hard to beat. It’s straightforward, hassle-free, and delivers an impressive visual punch that gets you close to the high-end PC VR experience, without the usual setup dance. If you’ve been on the fence about stepping into VR, this bundle might just be your perfect entry point. ... show more

  • HIGH QUALITY VR
Platform For Display: PlayStation VR2 Color: PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2)
As a disclaimer, I bought this PSVR2 on sale for 350$ and the rest of this review will be reflective of THIS price point. At 550$ My rating would drop by one star, but that is for another day. Comfort (4.5/5): So, I’ve only ever owned this VR headset and the Quest 2. I don’t know how it compares to other headsets, but I have always found it to be comfortable enough for a couple of hours without issue. I know that there’s a strap you can buy if you find that it slips during high movement games or depending on your head shape. Library(4.5/5): Taking into consideration the games coming out this year and the fact that this headset probably has at least two more years of content coming to it. I’m happy to say that most of you will be happy with the library! The only issue here is that it doesn’t have Half Life: Alyx. But, given the new PC adapter you find access to two PC (Steam)! Ease of use/installation(5/5): If you use this on PlayStation, there is like ZERO setup (aside from initial or compared to some PC headsets). I’ve personally never had issues with using it or connecting it. I have also never had the controller issues that some people have had, though *OCCASIONALLY (once or twice every dozen hours) I do get controller tracking hiccups from it. But ultimately it is very good and reliable. Graphics(5/5): Now, before anyone is a smart but, no it is not better than a 2-3 THOUSAND dollar setup. If you have money go buy something else. What I am telling you, is if you already bought a PS5/Pro for OTHER reasons then this 350$ price point is an AMAZING offer. The graphics look good and crisp thanks to foviated rendering. It also runs at a consistent 120 fps in the games that I have played it on, which is mainly Arizona Sunshine 1 & 2, GT7, Metro: Awakening, Beat Saber, and No Mans Sky! So I *personally get NO motion sickness. Price(5/5): At 350$, PSVR2 makes a fantastic purchase and a great headset. It’s only real competitor at this price point is Quest 3, which is great as well but for different audiences. However, if you are reading this after the sale the I would say WAIT! The headset is great but it is missing a Alyx sized game to justify 550$ ... show more

  • Terrible customer service; terrible product
Platform For Display: PlayStation VR2 Color: PlayStation VR2 Bundle (PSVR2)
You don’t know how terrible customer service is until you need it. Long story short, bought psvr2 for metro awakening, and it wouldn’t recognize any input from my right controller. Their online chat disconnected me twice before ever reaching an agent. When I finally did reach an agent, he didn’t listen to me, went through a list of steps that I’d already done, and then disconnected me when he was done with the list so they wouldn’t have to issue a refund. There was a feedback button, but it just linked to a message saying thank you for using PlayStation chat. I had to google an actual customer service phone number, followed the prompts, and it said to use the online chat and disconnects me. I had to call back and say it was a hardware issue to get an actual person, and then he was able to transfer me to an agent that could actually help. PlayStation will do whatever it takes to prevent you getting a refund for an unplayable game. [*] Update Turns out that there is a know issue with the psvr2 controllers that only affects some games and doesn’t affect input when you’re on the main ps5 Home Screen. It also affects different games differently. So I returned the whole system and got another one. The new psvr2 had the exact same issue. Will not be purchasing another one… ... show more
