  • Fun styles but they don't make em like they used to
Style: Toy
I work as a preschool interventionist and this is one of my favorite toys. I like that there are several options for each feature, as having choices brings out children's language and involvement. The colors are bright and fun, and there's even a pair of "angry" eyes so we can talk about Potato Head's feelings! Two complaints: 1. The pieces don't slide in as easily as they used to. The concept of Potato Head is appropriate for a very young developmental level, at which point children's finger strength might not be able to do this and it will be frustrating. With my older Potato Head, it was just right for the child to have to work on their finger strength and dexterity without being frustrated, but with this one I have to help out a lot. 2. What's with the shoes? With the old Potato Head, the shoes had a stick to attach them just like the other pieces. In this one, the shoes cover the whole lower half of the body. That itself is not such a problem, the issue is that this makes the shoes very bulky and hard to fit into the box with the other pieces - and for the same reason there is only one set. I would rather have a choice of shoes, and be able to fit them neatly into the box. The box is cute but I prefer rectangular boxes that can fit onto a shelf more neatly. I do like the "cute" factor but I'll probably end up buying a rectangular container at some point to be more space-efficient. Bit of a shame. Anyway, that critique is really for the manufacturer to consider. As a buyer, this is as good as it's going to get. Potato Head is classic for a reason, and this set gives you a nice selection of pieces to really have fun with it. It seems to go on sale fairly regularly, making it an excellent value too. ... show more

  • Really not worth buying, tbh.
Style: Toy
Kind of a strange array of accessories for Mrs. P. Includes two of the same nose only in very slightly different colors; one pair of eyes looks decidedly evil; the hair doesn’t stay on the head because I don’t think it’s made correctly; some of the accessories have rub marks on them where the color has streaked off; one weirdly worthless pair of extra long, cartoonish arms in addition to the normal arms; and none of the glasses stay on the head, even with a pair of ears attached. Overall I’m kind of bummed that most of the body parts are either unusable, damaged or just plain creepy. ... show more

  • Not as advertised!
Style: Toy
I got this for my daughter as a valentines day gift instead of traditional chocolate. I picked out the Mrs. potato head as opposed to Mr. potato head because of the cute pink case that came in. It came in today and imagine my surprise when I opened up the box and saw a plain clear case. I ended up letting my daughter have it tonight and it is very disappointing that none of the potatoes accessories stay on the toy... her hair, her hats, her crown, her earrings, her glasses.... nothing stays on. Frustrating to say the least! You spend more time trying get to keep the pieces on the potato than actually playing with it. Lame! ... show more

  • Pieces Don't Fit Well
Style: Toy
I bought this for my toddler because he is a huge Toy Story fan, and his Mr. Potato Head is missing a lot of pieces, and I thought he could use some of these pieces for both potato heads. This set does come with a lot of pieces, but I was hoping for more of the essential pieces. For example, I'd prefer more arms rather than three pairs of glasses. The main reason for two stars is that the pieces don't fit well into the potato head. My toddler cannot do it on his own, and it's even difficult for me to push in the pieces. We do not have this problem with his Mr. Potato Head. I do like that these come in a nice storage case, and there are enough pieces for both Mrs. Potato Head and Mr. Potato Head. Know that most of the pieces are really meant for a Mrs., such as purses, tiaras, pink lips, and various eyes with makeup on them. The hats don't really fit either. ... show more

  • Great value
Style: Toy
I read the reviews for this product after I place the order and I got a little nervous. However, we were pleasantly surprised! Do the parts fit perfectly onto the potato? Not really. But neither do the accessories for the Mr. Potato Head my daughter got us a gift a year and a half ago. Maybe they don’t make potatoes like they used to, I don’t know. However, she has fun playing with this kit and it occupies her for at least a short time every single day. As far as the arms and eyes and nose, etc. being difficult for a child to attach… I think it’s because if they slid in easily they would also slide out easily and not stay on. The fact an adult needs to sit and help her attach the limbs and other accessories makes it interactive. I would recommend this kit if you have a little Mr. Potato Head fan in your life. ... show more

  • Not well designed but my daughter loves it
Style: Toy
My daughter has been playing with this for hours on end since her 4th birthday two weeks ago, so it gets 4 stars, but there is some weirdness. Some of the pieces don't fit or are mis-matched (ex- one of the arms is purple and the other is pink, so my daughter won't use them) and there could have been more variety of certain items (only one color of hair-blonde-and it doesn't fit/stay on the potato) and it would have been nice to have more things for the potato to do (like the male potato has a microphone and some other objects) rather than four pairs of glasses, multiple purses, and four tongues...the butt doesn't fit so there is just a big hole in the back, there is a crown that doesn't fit, etc.... BUT, you know, it is a cheap plastic potato and my daughter is delighted with it. The container for all the parts is a plus. ... show more

Style: Toy
My package arrived yesterday. It is not in the cute pink suitcase as advertised! I haven't opened it up yet to see the exact content or pieces because it's a gift. Very disappointed considering this is something for my disabled Godchild to learn facial features in therapy. It's something her Mother will bring with them each week. Was looking forward to the suitcase shown in the picture. ... show more
