We got this product for our 4-year-old son who is already quite advanced for his age. My husband and I thought it would be great to introduce some screen time via an educational tool such as this. My son has been enjoying about 20 minutes after school. It has been a little over a week of him using it and he still enjoys playing with it and has passed many levels. What's nice about the product is that you can increase the level of difficulty and my son has already tried some more difficult levels. This game is a breeze to set up. You download the app onto appropriate device. From there it’s a matter of rolling out the play mat and taking out the links. Side note and tip: make sure your device is lined up correctly or the pad won’t read the links correctly. Anyway, I homeschool twin boys who are ten and am excited to use this to get their “engineering” feet wet. There’s mechanics involved, memory challenges, puzzles, learning to follow instructions, etc. I love that the pad doesn’t need batteries and they only need to touch the iPad to navigate between the different games. I wish they had this game when they were five because this game grows with them! They’re at the top end but we will get good use out of it this year and then can pass it on to their cousins . This is a great STEM game that you can play on your iPad. We got one of these as a gift, and I bought a 2nd one to give as a gift for someone else! My kids (3-7 years old) love playing this! They frequently ask to play this. There are several different games included. There's one where you have to copy the shapes, another game has you making a "pipe" system to get the water to the end. Another game has you making levels for a frog to jump onto to eat the flies. Another game has you making the cogs/gears to get the robot to move. And the last game is a word finder. The magnetic tiles work great, just make sure your playing pad is flat. If my kids try to use it on the carpet, it doesn't always lie flat so the tiles won't register. If you have it on a hard surface/table, there is no problem. ... show more

My son received this as a gift and he loves it! I love this product for so many different reasons. But I have 1 con: our link doesn't work well in low light. Solution: of course make sure your camera can see the link pad to register the magnetic pieces. Other than that, this program is great! The different levels and challenges keep kids engaged for much longer than other stem toys. It is definitely one for engaging young minds! It doesn't work with the kids kindle fire either... just incase someone is thinking of using one. ... show more

The AR building blocks are a nice upgrade from the wooden blocks my daughter played with as a baby. The Plugo Link mixes fun and learning together which allows kids to develop critical thinking skills, step out of the box and problem solve on the go. She really liked being able to see the tower being built on her device and how innovative the technology was. I think this would be a good gift for kids ages 4-10 because it allows them to use their tablets but also challenges them with games and puzzles. ... show more

I bought this for my 5 year old son for Christmas. He has a Kindle Fire 8 which was shown as being compatible. That's not the case as the app was not available! Thankfully I have a Samsung tablet that it works well with. The games are cute and educational and he does love it. I just wish it would work with his tablet! ... show more

I love absolutely this product. My 4 year old has been fully engaged with plugo while problem solving, using spacial awareness, and learning cause and effect the whole time. It’s such a fun learning tool and I’m really excited to see him master these games. Once you download the Plugo link app there are several different games to play and different levels. Which is so great because as he advances he will be able to move on to other levels and continue to be challenged. I really feel like this can grow with him and he can learn so many basic engineering principals from it. This should be on everyones Christmas and birthday wish lists for their kids! ... show more

We purchased this for my 7 year old this year, and were very excited for it. She has a 7th generation Kindle Fire Tablet, which is within the specs of working tablets the manufacturer states are supported. Well, when we searched for the Plugo App, it was NOT available within the App Store on the device they stated (can be seen in the image I am adding to this review) was compatible. So immediately, without a different device, this entire product is unusable. I rated 1 star overall, because of these issues, of which you cannot guarantee I won't have a way around. Fortunately, I have an ipad I was able to find the app on, and am using that to make the toy work. That said though, this requires that I allow my 7 year old to use a VERY expensive iPad tablet, which is not something I allow for the obvious reasoning. The jury is still out on the product once you do finally get it working on a device, however, from our initial assessment, there do not appear to be enough games to justify the cost, or anywhere near the levels within the games that are already created. My 7 year old had completed 75% of the game levels available, within 3 days of receiving, and was honestly bored due to the lack of variability. We will monitor releases to see if any of this changes, but as of now, this product just massively flounders overall. ... show more
