One of my fiddle leaf fig cuttings finally rooted with this grow light. With how gloomy it’s been, it has been super difficult getting my plants to grow and bloom but this growlight has been a lifesaver! This is the must have lighting system to grow plants. There is a book that will tell one the required distance from the source to get the correct lighting. My three units are on Smart plug WIFI, timer. All my carnivorous plants love this lighting. This system is worth the funding and will show growth quickly. This is the company to use. ... show more

I own 2 different sizes, this being the larger of the 2. Constructed incredibly well and very nice spectrum offering in its class. Versatile and easy to install into a variety of uses. Can be setup horizontally or vertically with the supplied base. Only complaint I have is I use it installed to the inside roof of my IKEA Ruudsta greenhouse cabinet and it does put out a more heat than my other lights in my other cabinets. You need to take this into consideration if using in an enclosed space and accommodate or retrofit. It will throw off your VPD numbers and possibly overheat the cabinet if your Ambiant temps aren’t consistent and controllable in the coming summer. It raises temps 5-10°. ... show more

    • Base too light, gets too hot
The wind coming through my window knocked this over. Which concerns me because even though this is LED and even though this housing is supposed to cool the light, this gets very hot. It’s not the bulb part that’s hot, but the aluminum housing is very hot. I’m concerned at how hot it gets and how easy it is for this to fall over. In addition, this seems to heat up that section in the room, a little bit too much. ... show more

What I like about these grow lights is it’s minimal use of plastic. Meant to be used over a long period of time with exchangeable led strips when it’s time to change.

    • Very weak light and very overpriced
I purchased two of these lights and am honestly very disappointed. I installed them on the undersides of my plant shelves and noticed they seemed quite dim. The Mother website provides recommendations for several plants on how far they should ideally be placed away from the grow light. I have a calathea ornata, so I looked up that plant and the recommended distance from the plantspectrum32 was 50cm. According to their website, at 50cm, the PPDF of their light is 22, which is super low. Definitely a lot lower than what would be necessary for this plant to thrive. So I emailed Mother directly about this and got a response from the founder. To summarize, he said it's not enough light for the plant on its own, and the distance recommendation is based on the assumption that the plant is recieving ample natural light. I calculated the DLI provided by this light and compared it to what was listed on the Mother website as optimal for this specific plant, and it came out to about 18% of the plant's light needs. I presented my calculations to the founder and he acknowledged that they were correct. I dont know about you, but if I'm using a grow light, it's typically for plants located in spaces where the ambient light is drastically less than what the plant needs to thrive - not a spot where 82% of their needs are met by ambient light. For my shelves, I ended up supplementing with several strips of cheap Amazon grow lights, and now the PPFD on those shelves is respectable, but still not ideal. Definitely don't waste your money on these very overpriced lights. There are WAY better grow lights out there at a fraction of the price. ... show more
