This plant stand is attractive, sturdy and functional. The instructions take a bit of orienting but include a finished diagram which helps a lot. I advise keeping the parts very organized, but take each piece of tubing and make sure the screws will work on each end. When I first went through this process, one third of the screws would not screw into the tube. After I greased the threads I ended up with one end on one tube that I could not get a screw into. Rather than mess with a drill I somehow managed to get that tube to end up on the top where three finishing screws are called for. By using only two of the three screws the shelf is still secure and stable. I also advise holding the Allen wrench still and rotating the tube to assemble each tube. ... show more

It was kind of a pain to put together but didn't take long considering. Did it by myself in about 45 minutes, the directions are not all that clear nor is the labeling. For the sturdiness, yes it is sturdy once built. do I trust it with out the bottom shelf being weighed down, no.

It's a great price for a modern and slick looking plant stand that is incredibly functional. The only downside is that because of its unconventional design, placing heavy plants can cause the whole shelf to tip over or become top heavy if you do not counter balance it with equivalently heavy pots. It is definitely a tipping hazard if you are not careful in how you set it up, and even then I am wary of our cat investigating it. That being said, I honestly would dissuade a purchase if you have large plants in heavy pots. They can likely fit, but, you will need to balance the shelf while placing them and whenever you remove them (which makes cleaning under the pots a hazard..), or place something exceptionally heavy on the base. ... show more

I've ordered the 6 and 5 tier versions and they both look great. I like that the poles are metal because I feel like they will hold up well over time. I like how the platforms are staggered to allow for taller plants.
