Buy em buy em buy em.These things are amazing.Makes watering a breeze with no guess work.Dry top soil....good BYE pest problems.I have 3 of the four active right now and the results are just amazing.And with a gauge to indicate water level you now your good with a glance.Once you have some small roots come through the bottom of the fabric pot,they can get entangled in the wicking rope.With the roots being so small they are easy to clean.The kit comes very well laid out with plenty of wicking rope to get you started.And it can be reused but I`d advise against it.Its very inexpensive and I`d rather replace it with each new grow and not risk any kind of contamination.They are very well made.Rock solid and not flimsy.If your a serious home grower buy them.You will not be disappointed. ... show more

I like the quality and functionality of these. I cut the wicks and am using the self watering feature. I'm hoping it helps cut down on fungus gnats I was getting from watering on top of the soil.

These are great self watering bases with the included gauge, makes it super simple to keep consistent watering schedules as it does it by itself. My only feedback would be that it would be nice if there was a method in which these could be set up with a way to hook up a water line in order for it to stay constantly full. If this could be done and you could daisy chain the set up, it would be a huge plus. The reason I suggest this, is because I have plants that are sucking up nearly the entire gallon that goes into each base daily and it’d be nice to not have to be concerned over watering at all while away from them for a few days at a time. ... show more

This product is great and has kept my plants fed and healthy. My only problem is not knowing what to do about the high and I mean HIGH increase in humidity due to the standing water. If you can manage that, these pots are perfect.

Initially I thought only 1 self watering unit would be included with this order. It says in website description that 4 platforms are included, but there are actually 4 complete self watering bases, with moisture gauges and lots of string for wicks. I was skeptical at first on how they would work but it’s incredible how well my plants drink up the water from below and are thriving. I also learned if plants are getting too much water you can remove one of the wicks or If your plant isn’t getting enough water, you can add more than 2 wicks. ... show more

I had a bad habit of either over-watering or under-watering my houseplants. With this self-watering base, I no longer have that problem. My plant's soil will only absorb water until the soil is wet. So my roots are getting the water and nutrients almost directly. I don't have to worry about watering if I leave town for a few days so I am very pleased. It is important to note that this unit only works with fabric based pots or bags. I don't think it will work for plastic or ceramic pots so, if you have those, this is not the product for you. ... show more
