I can't tell you how many pens I have gone through to finally settle on this one. It might sound ridiculous to some - a pen is a pen. While other things are not as important, writing is - for me. I do a lot and I grade papers, etc... This is the best pen ever. It doesn't smear, is bold enough, very SMOOTH - while not clumping. I think my biggest want was to have smooth and bold writing. I mostly tried 'gel' pens. Through trial and error, I found out I needed 'ball point' ones. I was steering from them because they remind me of the old BIC pens that were skinny to hold, bled, and messy. The Pilot g-2 pen has been my go-to pen for years. It's one of those pens that's so comfortable to use it makes my handwriting look better, This size point just glides over paper and leaves a nice legible lines. I can write longer without hand cramping.
