I bought these pens to do zentangling, and I’m very pleased with how well they work. I tried them on both white paper and black (just the white, silver, and gold on the black paper), and they looked good on both. Because the lines they make are so fine, they didn’t pop as much on the black as I’d hoped, but that’s my bad. I’m sure if I went up to a regular tip, it would show better. Overall, I’m very pleased. One caveat — since these are metallic, they take longer to dry, so be cautious of smearing. ... show more

These pens are standard Pilot G2 quality. The ink is in a metallic finish, which is pretty. The ink comes out smoothly and dries quickly. Only six colors are metallic because the black and white are just the regular ink. I’d like it better if they were all metallic ink.

The package set includes 7 gel pens for writing on black paper and 1 back gel pen for regular use on white/color paper. I usually prefer micro point pens but the 07 series from Pilot is consistently reliable. The image shows how well the pen writes after writing the word twice (to get the gel flowing ). The white pen does not perform as well as the metallic gel pens on the paper, so you would have to retrace the word to make it more prominent. (Edit: on this paper, the colors are not as prominent and they appear silver with a little bit of color, but on white and colored paper the intended color is prominent.
