My daughter has a cleft palette and this bottle is the only way she can eat! She is finally gaining weight . We’ve tried other special feeder bottles and this is the only one that works well !! The only down side is the packaging inside bottle makes no since good thing I don’t need instructions.

My daughter was born with an isolated cleft palate. She is unable to drink from a normal bottle or from the breast because she cannot get suction. They originally gave us the pigeon bottle/nipple combo in the hospital but the bottle was HUGE for a newborn. Talking a 9-10oz bottle for 1oz of milk. If even that. So we tried the Dr. Brown Specialty Feeder System which she did really well with for a while. Until she wasn't anymore. Then I read a hack on the ACPA about putting this nipple on the Dr. Brown bottles and it has worked WONDERS. My little babe will only use these nipples now and nothing else so they must be a lot easier for her to receive milk from. ... show more

My baby was born with Bilateral cleft lip and palate and we started out using the haberman nipple (medela special feeder) -dr browns didn’t work for us.. after assisting him for a while we noticed he was doing well on his own and I wanted to try something new. We switched to this bottle and I’m so glad we did it’s been amazing. Just don’t twist the top on too tight or it cuts the air valve and won’t work right and if it’s not on tight enough it leaks. Do it just right and test it before feeding and it’s the best thing ever. Sucks that it has to be pricey and you only get one bottle but I still love the bottle. ... show more

This bottle does its job in helping babies with suctino power or cleft palate get their daily bottles. However, the packaging is really bad. It is very hard to remove the instructions from inside. Also, the little valve to prevent the liguid from falling back falls easily. Overall, it does its job but I find it EXTREMELY expensive given the flaws and the purpose. ... show more

Picked up two of these, one for my house and one for my daughter so she had an extra. My grandson didn’t like the other bottle that was recommended for his soft cleft palate, so having a few extras of these will be helpful. However, the packaging is insane. Who puts the instruction manual INSIDE the bottle? It took nearly ten minutes for me to pry pieces of it out before I gave up and filled it with water to make the book start to fall apart so I could get the rest out. Good thing we already knew how to use it! It’s wrapped in plastic, so why not wrap the book around the bottle? Parents don’t need yet another hoop to jump through! ... show more

My son was born with a cleft lip and palate. They had given us mendela bottles but overtime it seemed like our was chocking because was getting faster. And the dr brown bottles would leak. We ordered the smaller nipple size and my son seems to feed very well with this bottle.
