Bought this paddle after playing pickle ball with friends a few times. I would typically just borrow their basic wooden or entry level paddles, which were alright for the time being. I didn’t realize the true impact of a paddle until trying their higher end intermediate paddles. I used to play tennis so I like to incorporate slices and varying power to my strokes, this is a great paddle for adding these more advanced techniques to your game. Compared to some other similarly priced paddles I’ve tried, this paddle has more weight, reflected in the power generated. The grip is very comfortable and the paddle has a great feel in hand. I recently bought the Stream 1 pickleball paddle and it's been a game-changer compared to the basic one I was using before. The extended frame really helps give me the extra reach I need on the court. The fiberglass surface is perfect for adding some spin to the ball and the core provides excellent control and makes my shots more accurate. I like the styling of this paddle. It has nice heft to it and a good responsive control and a good thin handle which I prefer. Don't love the logo taking up so much of the surface as it makes the grit a little uneven in my opinion but it is holding up well. I’ve been playing pickleball for 5 years and use this paddle 3 times a week. The lightweight carbon fiber construction makes it easy to maneuver and reduces fatigue during long sessions. Pros: Lightweight, durable, great grip. Cons: Slightly pricey but worth the investment.

I am a 3.5 on most days and a 2.5 on days when it is horrible .. I ordered the stream1 play in a 4th of July mixed tournament and I gotta tell ya, this thing works for me. I have tried Friday (all pop no spin), SLK hybrid (normal use) and the Steam 1 felt more like the SLK than CRBN, I was able to get good control in smashing and dinking and reasonable spin (more me than the paddle). Overall I think this will be primary for my league play Cons: The handle is thin so it has square edges, luckily I hand some left over grips from my racquetball days so I applied them as over grips and that solved the problem ... show more

I had been using some average store brand paddles for a long time. They worked well for what I needed but I had always considered getting something better. I came across this paddle and one, I really like the design, and two it is lightweight and made of significantly better materials than what I had been using. It has been great so far! Update 8/8/24: Been using this for a while now. This isn't a $150 type paddle. The paddle is fiberglass, slippery, and hard to control the ball. This should sell for around $50 or less, but I'd still buy other paddles like Hisk. It is the least favorite paddle I have. I doubt I can sell it since there are other better paddles out there. Ok, I hate this thing and really tried to like it. ---- I got the paddle last week and played 3 different times for about 3 hours each. Thought I'd share my experience with the paddle. I will update more later as I get more use of it and if there are changes. DESIGN: The design is nice and colorful, artsy, and looks good on court. Got some attention and asked about the paddle. FACE: The surface is shiny and slippery, which makes me wonder if it's really carbon. The description says it is, so I'll assume that is correct. I have other carbon paddles and they are very different. The Oliver is slippery but still spins the ball. Need more time to evaluate this as it gets used more and hopefully gets better. GRIP: The grip is a little small for my hand but once I added a wrap on the handle, it felt right. WEIGHT: It is a little light for me but I think if I add some lead to the top, it will be good for my kind of play. PACKAGING: Came with bubble wrap in a typical brown box. There was no special presentation like I see with the other reviews for other type of Stream-1. I would think that since this is the most expensive one, it would arrive with better packaging. Not removing a star on this because, ultimately, we all throw the box away and keep the paddle. OVERALL: The Stream-1 is a good paddle, attractive, and it is USAPA approved. I would put this in the Control category rather than Power but still has pop. I removed a star because the paddle seems slippery and not having the spin a typical carbon paddle has. ... show more
