    • Piano Note Guides So Useful That You Soon Won’t Need Them

Sometimes you need something for just a while and then you won’t need it anymore. I suspect that these excellent Piano Note Guides will be something like that. Yes, they lay down on the keys of your piano easily and don’t get in the way of your fingering, but I like how they give the name of each key and I especially like how they show the position on the staff (though sometimes the printing is a bit off on the staff [is that note on the line or on the space? It’s generally obvious which is right]). At first your piano beginner will be looking at the notes on the staff and checking the stickers, but soon they’ll be there but not seen there. That makes them very useful as a reminder but not as a crutch. I’ll tell you how my wife is using these. Instead of laying the guides flat on the keys she is resting them partly on the “wood” behind the keys and partly on the keys themselves. This puts the note guides at an angle that faces her eyes directly. She says that allows her to see them more easily. I would have never thought of that, which is why I’m letting you know. These stickers are of a thicker material than I was expecting, which is a very good thing. They fit securely on the keys, and they are out of the way of your fingers so they don’t affect the feel of the piano keys. The keys are marked in distinctive colors (all the F keys are one color, all the D’s are another, etc.). All the colors are easy to see (other than the yellow E’s – that yellow is so hard for me to see for some reason). But I survive and I expect you will as well! This is a well-executed version of a long-time learning help. If you are learning the piano or know someone who is, then I recommend these note guides to you. ... show more

We got this to help our daughter learn to play the piano. It arrives ready to install on the keyboard. It took 5 minutes to put on. It comes with directions that are clear and easy to understand. It seems to be made well. The letters and notes are easy to read. The silicone feels durable and rugged. To test it out we placed it on the piano. The fit was good. We really like this concept for kids learning the piano since it does not stick to the keys. The rubber was a tad thicker than we'd like though. Some of the spacing was too tight but it was stretchy and able to fit each key.

The media could not be loaded. Well made and easy to see and fits the keyboard very well. This sits at the top of the piano keyboard and not near where you tap the key, so this is more a start up guide than a teaching/learning aid..

I have begun teaching my 7-year-old granddaughter piano as she has shown an interest in learning to play when she comes to visit. To get her started, I made up some sheets with simple songs with the notes indicated above the words as shown on the attached picture. I then made up tabs from sticky notes and placed them on the keyboard to help her learn the note positions. She is delighted to be able to play a tune, and as she progresses I will teach her the basics of reading music. I ordered this note guide as it is more convenient than the sticky notes and shows the actual note position on the staff for reference. It comes in three sections and fits perfectly on my standard 88 note piano, but it could also be trimmed and used on a 61 or smaller keyboard if the key spacings are standard. When done, the note guide can simply be picked up and stored until next time. This is a very nice accessory for a beginner and I am very pleased with it. ... show more

I received this item through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an honest review. I ordered this item because we bought an 88 key keyboard for our grandson for Christmas. He currently does not read music and only somewhat knows the notes. I chose this particular item because it does not stick to the keyboard with adhesive, Instead it rests on keyboard between the keys and relies on the properties of the silicone to keep it in place. Middle C is prominently marked. I like that it not only shows the names of the keys, but it also shows the notes on a staff. This seems like a great way to be able to learn music by associating the sound immediately with the name of the note and its position on the staff. It comes in three sections and fit nicely over the 88 keys of my keyboad. The keyboard came with note stickers, but they were adhesive.
