  • Absolute must buy for worship teams on a budget, or even if you aren’t on a budget ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
The Phenyx Pro PTM-33 is by far the BEST budget wireless IEM system that I have used to date. I’m the worship director of worship team for a small church that averages in about 50-60 members per Sunday for our one 11am-1pm worship service. Before using the Phenyx Pro PTM-33 we were using a super budget 2 channel 250 dollar wireless IEM system with 6 wireless receivers sharing two channels. Needless to say as a band we were more or less dealing with it more than we were actually happy with it. We had more than occasional dropouts, the sound coming from the receivers were not only so quiet that the system needed an additional purchase of an amp to be usable, but they also were extremely treble heavy and left a lot of lower frequencies completely lost in the mix. We were always trying everything in our power to get more of our lower frequencies to come through clearly on these and just ended up dealing with it because at least we were able to somewhat hear ourselves despite the quality. Fast forward to the beginning of 2023 when I decided it was time to go wireless with our mics and ended up choosing the Phenyx Pro PTU-7000A which we were absolutely amazed by. This made me curious enough to get the PTM-33 wireless IEM system. Hooking this system up was a dream. I was actually late the day I decided to hook the new system up, panicking, thinking I wouldn’t have the time, but thank the Lord for how easy setup was. I had it out the box, connected to our system and ready to go in 5 minutes flat. Due to the ability to make a daisy chain connection, I literally only needed one wire from the system I already had and a couple spare short wires that I had sitting around to connect every channel and back out into the original system we were using. I couldn’t dream of it being any easier than this! The size of the transmitter was absolutely perfect as well, being not much bigger than the system and amp we already had. I think the only thing that would probably make me happier for the setup process was if there was an auto-scan option for every channel just like on the PTU-7000A to search the RF environment to locate better available frequencies with more precision than just randomly looking through and praying its a perfect channel. REGARDLESS, we experienced ZERO dropouts throughout our stage and sanctuary. Heck, I was able to go to the bathroom and not miss a beat of the sermon because the signal reached all the way out to our bathroom by the entrance of the church building while our transmitter sat on stage. As far as the sound quality goes, I will say the one thing I was not pleased by was the In-Ear Monitor earpieces that came with the system. These were the only thing I would say was not good with what came with the system. They were about as useful as a pair of airplane earbuds if they actually had silicone tips. They were a bit tinny, and didn’t have much depth or soundstage in my opinion. They also offered zero noise isolation, I could literally hear everything else going on around me clear as day. I may be being a little bit harsh, but I’m spoiled with much better sounding earpieces. I could hear everything, but it was definitely not enjoyable and made me glad that my band all had their own IEM Earpieces. I’d say use the included earpieces if you don’t already own your own and are still waiting for your new earpieces to come in. Definitely look into companies like KZ, CRA, Moondrop, and Salnotes for great IEM earpieces for under 25 dollars as replacements for these. HOWEVER, when we used our own IEM earpieces, WOW the sound was so much fuller than what I was expecting. On our old 250 dollar setup, my band would want to constantly take their IEMs out of their ears because they didn’t like the sound that came out from the transmitters, but the PTM-33s outperformed and exceeded all of our expectations. The sound was much fuller in the mid and low frequencies while the high frequencies were just right for vocals and especially with the treble coming from the crash cymbals as well as the snare. The bass that was drowned out on our old system was fully there and in our faces but not offensive. Now my band wears them even off-stage because it sounds so good. Suffice to say the battery life on these are doing way better than what I’ve used before. No noticeable drainage after I had the receivers on for practically the whole day with sounds constantly flowing through them. No complaints whatsoever on that end Last and my most favorite thing about this set are the clips on the receivers. NO MORE are the days of broken receiver clips for your waist and pocket! These clips are SO STURDY. Don’t EVER expect the clips to break, or for any of the receivers to fall off while you’re using em or even jumping around because these clips are so strong and sturdy. Conclusion/TL;DR : Score : 15/10 The PTM-33 is an excellent budget IEM system that can measure up to even some of the top names in the game. PHENYX PRO KNOCKED IT OUT THE PARK WITH THESE! Easy-to-use, set up, and has amazing sound quality, range, and battery life. They’ll stay on your waist and pockets and never fall off with its SUPER STURDY high quality receiver clips. Just make sure to purchase new IEM earpieces and try not to use the included ones. ... show more

I really love this product. Really easy (even more so than the ptm 10 to set and sync channels. Clear audio. Only downside I've found is interference on a wireless signal heavy stage. I've been in contact with phoenix pro about an antenna. They don't have one yet for this model. Only reason for 4 stars is no external antenna booster. Otherwise solid product that does well in most situations. For a budget iem rig I'd buy it again and again. ... show more

  • EXCELLENT Wireless IEM System!!!!
I run an outdoor stage in South Florida, RF is incredibly crowded making it tough to run wireless systems. Previously I’ve been running Sennheiser IEM systems (500mhz range) but constant drop outs have kept this from being a flawless experience. Always complaints from the band members regarding the drop outs and interference. Figured I’d give the Phenyx PTM-33 a try for a few reasons….. 1. Frequency, 900mhz. The 500mhz bandwidth is absolutely packed down here, as is 2.4ghz (as well as 5ghz),but 900mhz? Wide open. 2. 4 channels in a single rack space! Sure two Sennheiser / Shure units running Mono gives me 4 channels in a single rack space. But, the frequencies offered and the price for THAT system….. 3. THE PRICE! $500 for 4 mixes? Remember the old Shure P9HW packs that cost $550? One channel, and costs $50 more than the PTM-33! You can’t beat this price! For the price of ONE Sennheiser system, you can buy TWO PTM-33’s, giving you EIGHT channels! Outrageous! So far I’ve done Ten, two hour shows with this unit. Not a single drop out, no interference, not one issue. Gave a 5th band member my Sennheiser this weekend, drop outs and interference all over the stage. I’ve also had several people comment on the sound quality and how much better it is than the Sennheiser I previously used. One thing that concerns me, is the build of the packs. Sennheiser are metal, rugged packs. Mine have been dropped a zillion times and they work as expected. They look terrible now, but they still work. The Phenyx is plastic, which shouldn’t really be an issue and is lighter weight than the Sennheiser packs. I would definitely rather have a metal pack, and hopefully they offer them in the future. The antenna though…. They are very fragile. I can see these getting pulled on when a musician reaches back to adjust their volume on the pack and breaking it. This is the only negative I can find with the PTM-33. Hopefully Phenyx will come up with Metal packs, with removable antennas. If you are a venue looking to ditch wedges and bring a MUCH more pleasurable experience to your customers (and musicians)….. If you are a band looking to have your own IEM Rig…. This is an excellent, inexpensive system, I can’t recommend it enough! We have now purchased two more PTM-33’S for our two other venues, which we deployed last week and again - flawless performance! ... show more

  • Awesome 4 channel IEM system!!
The PTM-33 IEM system is awesome!! The 1U transmitter unit fit nicely in my 19” rolling rack case, however there are a couple things you should be aware of. First, you will need XLR patch cables and 1/4 inch adapters if your mixing board’s Aux sends are XLR as is the case with my rack mixer. There are no patch cables included. Do yourself a favor and order some XLR to 1/4 inch patch cables when you order the PTM-33. Next, the power cable is not IEC so you will need a small extension cord to plug in the power adapter since it will extend below most 1U power supplies in your rack. If you don’t use a small extension cord, you may have to move something in your rack down to plug in the adapter. I had to move a few of my already racked components which was tricky because my rack is filled pretty full. Once I sorted out the patch cable and power supply situations, I was able to use the system flawlessly at a few gigs recently and I will tell you I am very pleased with its performance. Syncing the receiver packs to the transmitter is simple. We have had no signal drop outs and the sound is really very good even with the supplied ear buds. The best part is that I no longer have to lug and set up floor wedges and compete with stage volume to mix FOH, especially at smaller venues. If you are looking for a budget friendly, good performing IEM system, look no further. ... show more
