    • Good for light duty projects or hobbies.
This little tool is handy for light duty and small projects. It is small and light, about the size of an electric toothbrush. So far, it holds enough charge to complete some small tasks. It's a great tool to grab when I need a little help on a craft/hobby project. It has 3 speeds that you cycle through by pressing the power button. The set includes a little case to hold the attachments. It's not perfect, but with some organization, it fits them all adequately. I do wish that it had a case that would hold the tool AND the attachments, but it's not a deal breaker. There is an instruction booklet, but it's not the best so it is helpful to have some prior experience with rotary tools and attachments. This product description page is actually more helpful to get you started than the instruction booklet as it has big photos and simple instructions on inserting attachments and samples of what you can use different tips for. There are some things that I think it can do well. I really like it for small, sanding tasks. The kit includes 24 little sanding drums and 6 sanding disks. I have also tried grinding a rough edge on a metal sheet with one of the abrasive stone tips, which worked well enough. The polishing pads will likely come in handy for crafts. The cutting wheel will cut through thin materials, which again is good enough for craft projects, but you will not be sawing through anything substantial with it and I expect it will wear out fairly quickly. I haven't had a need for the diamond-tip tools yet, but I did briefly try carving into a ceramic tile and chunk of wood and it did make a mark. I don't think I will expect much out of this for carving, except maybe for some small uses here and there. The power is limited and I think I'd probably be better off with something more powerful. Do NOT expect to do any drilling with this tool, despite the fact that it comes with 2 drill tips. I did a couple of tests and it was definitely a fail. It's just not powerful enough to drill into even very thin plywood in a reasonable amount of time. This tool is NOT a replacement for a larger, more powerful rotary tool. But, with it's small size and cordless abilities, it is a handy addition to a well-stocked tool box. ... show more

There are a lot of choices when it comes to cordless rotary tools. For the price, this kit comes out in the middle of the pack. This is a light power, lower speed unit that is great at simple carving and polishing tasks. It excelled at trimming/drilling light materials like balsa and pine. It was flawless at medium speed polishing. It handled light sanding of soft wood, plastic and hardened polymer clay (Fimo) well, but speed drag was very noticeable under the sanding load. I appreciate the use of a standard collet and collet lock on the chuck. Made it as easy to use as full size corded tools. The included accessories come in an adequate case that is in need of some serious reorganization. The parts are able to shift around quite a bit in transit. The loose sanding disks are difficult to safely retrieve from the square wells. I snapped one in half just trying to get it of the case without dumping everything out. This is why sanding disks usually ship in a small tube that holds them safely. FYI - I wasn't able to fit any of my existing disk tubes into the case, they are just slightly too large. Unfortunately, the tool itself doesn't come with it own case nor does it fit in the accessory case. At this price point, a better storage solution is almost standard, so it's lack is a disappointment. The accessories are adequate for this price point. The sanding and polishing bits are of standard quality and will likely wear at the expected rate. The diamond burr bits are sub-par. The two bits I used had noticeable wear after about 15-20 minutes of use on stone and ceramic tile. Lastly, the listed 'included components' in the product information are incorrect. There were only 3 mandrels in the kit - not 4, one for drums, one for disks and one for the felt pads. The 'wire brush' was actually a cone shaped bristle brush. It actually comes with 3 cut off wheels and 3 paper sanding discs.. not 6 paper discs. None of these are huge issues, but accuracy in the listing is helpful. ... show more

    • Very handy!
This is a bit under-powered for a rotary tool, but not unreasonably so. I am sure it will be very handy when I want something quick to do a small job and don't feel like dragging out my high-powered corded tools. It's also great for taking out where I do not have access to electricity while working. I tested it right out of the box and was surprised to find it already charged (plus!) I cut through some plastic scraps and sanded off some burrs on a piece of scrap metal--it did both jobs with ease. Additionally, it came with a nice assortment of bits, sanding disks, collets and so forth in a convenient plastic case. I trust it will be very handy around my homestead! ... show more

    • Organized Case is Awesome, but changing out heads is a bit difficult...
I ordered this to maybe help in my camper renovations my S/O and I are doing. There are 3 power levels and multiple different head types. Figuring out how to change out the heads took me a minute and it's a bit tough. There's a piece that fits down in the drill head, then a black piece screws on top of it securing it in place. The interchangeable heads, fit in that inside piece then you screw the black piece down. I did see that some of the heads prevented the black piece from coming down all the way. I'm not sure if I'm just not doing it correctly but the instructions provided don't really give a detailed explanation. ... show more
