Have not fished with it yet but rod seems sensitive enough at the tip for light bites big enough backbone for occasional eater walleyes if drag and patience are correct. The reel will be sufficient but not enough spool tension/brake to keep lighter baits upon decent from creating backlash. The reel although smooth does lack the precision for the spool to be instant stop there’s some play in the spool vs the handle. This rod is great! I like the reel and the rod, the action and backbone are good for the walleye fishing I do with this. The only reason why it I rated it a 4 star is because the top eye lit was missing when I opened out of the box, but overall pretty dang good.
