    • Not Over-the-Door ready out of box. Hooks could be longer

I purchased this over-the-door mirror for my 85 yr old Mom. It was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. However, I'm glad I was there when it arrived. Although included, the over-the-door hooks are not attached to the mirror, only rings for hanging it vertically or horizontally on a wall. I had to hold the mirror against the door while my helper marked the distance for mounting the hooks onto the backside of the mirror. Once marked I had to drill holes in the backside of the mirror frame to attach the over-the-door hooks. When you open the door it will swing outward unless you use some method to anchor it to the door. The frame is attractive and I really like the larger size of the mirror (especially the length) - quit a bit wider and longer than most. The hooks could be a bit longer, my Mom's not very tall so even with the longer length of the mirror, I had to mount the hooks as high as possible on the frame so that the mirror would hang low enough on the door. It’s really cute but not sure how I ended up with the wood trim when I ordered gold. Really didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning it since it’s so big. I’ll just line it with gold foil tape for the look I want. It’s a good quality mirror but it did have some black scratches or something on it but only when you look super close. ... show more

I was a little hesitant at first with not seeing any pictures of the brown wood. I’m glad I went for it as this mirror is big and beautiful. The brown is brown wood and real wood not fake. Love!!!
