Quality of the grinder components is too notch, this thing cranks out pepper. It is also great looking. Only gripe is that it is very cumbersome to fill, also the mechanism for the size of the grind is just the nut that holds it all together which is a bit sloppy

Works really good, produces a lot of ground pepper with just a few turns. Easy to grip and looks good in my kitchen. I would recommend this grinder to anyone. I have been a professional chef for over 36 years and this is one of the best I’ve used.

I have been looking for a decent pepper mill - one that doesn't either spit out half-peppercorns or let you grind all day and get barely a trace of pepper. So far, this mill has ground pepper better than any of the others I have tried. The mill has a crank handle which I prefer, but I don't think it affects the grind; the mill comes with a small rubber funnel for loading pepper into the mill, which is handy, and the mill also comes loaded with pepper so you can use it out of the box. The grind can be adjusted by twisting the silver ring at the base of the grinder, and it has five (or six?) positions, the coarsest grind basically gives you cracked pepper, while the finest gives you a flour-like consistency. I immediately noticed just how strong the smell was from the ground pepper, and it gives me some idea of how poorly my previous grinders have worked in comparison. Peugeot have been making pepper grinders forever, but typically in a very traditional style I didn't like, but this design is more modern and (to me) stylish. ... show more

Handle knob does come loose but all you need is a #2 torque screwdriver (I have loads of tools so not a problem for me) to tiger it right back up. Mine came packaged really poorly and was poking through the bay and didn’t come with a funnel but by far my favorite pepper mill I’ve ever used.

I purchased to replace a pepper grinder I have had for 25 years. A key with me was ease of filling. This was problematic on my original grinder. The hole was so small that filling would take quite a bit of time with using a skewer to coax peppercorns in. The Peugot grinder is very easy to fill, it works great, and it looks great. I have it out at all times....looks the business in the kitchen. I purchased a matching Peugot salt shaker and it works great as well. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for myself using a gift card I got for Christmas. After some research I thought the design and craftsmanship worth the price. I use this fairly regularly but after only a few months of normal use the wooden knob on the handle comes loose and can only be tightened with a star shaped screwdriver. The crank is also kind of finicky to use. The paint on the top has also started to chip even though it has never been submerged in water or dropped.
