My five year old saved up her weekly allowance to buy this toy. When it first arrived, it stopped working within 24 hours of use, no matter how many times I changed the batteries. Amazon promptly replaced it, and the new one has worked wonderfully! At $15, this was a good buy.

To start, I only buy these “blind” toys from Amazon. Amazon is the only place I’ve found that lets you pick the pet you want. It’s very frustrating when the kids get duplicates and a waste of money. Still a surprise for the kiddo! The kitten is adorable and well made. Requires batteries for the sounds. The packaging is very cute(makes a great gift), as well as the accessories. Well, technically, now I've bought 3. Read on... I bought the black one for my 3 YO and the ginger one for my 7 YO grand daughters. We gave them to the girls on Saturday morning. They both *LOVED* them. Really *LOVED* them. We spent the morning playing with them. We put the "litter" in a bowl with a lid so it didn't get all over the house. The girls were so cute putting their kitties in the bowl so they could go potty. (Honestly, they were a bit repulsed by the idea of cats pooping in a box of sand that you have to clean out, but they have no experience with cats LOL.) The 3 YO wasn't willing to part with hers and had to take it in the car when we went to go eat lunch. They both worked initially, but we arrived at the house on Sunday morning to find the 7 YO in tears because her kitty wasn't working--no meows, no purrs, nothing. It didn't work intermittently. It just didn't work. Mom & Dad had replaced the batteries and checked as best they could for any reason why the ginger cat no longer worked. There was no obvious reason. I don't like seeing my babies cry! So I ordered her another one on the spot. (The third one bought) She got it this afternoon (Monday). The replacement brought the smile back to her face. I give 2.5 stars. 5 stars for the one that still works. 0 stars for the one that doesn't. No rating on the replacement one yet. So order at your own risk. It seems to be a crap shoot whether it will last or not. I will update this review if either of the other ones stops working. ... show more
