I got this for a Sheltie puppy. It will work for crate training and a sleeping crate. However there is no way I’d use this as a travel or containment crate for long periods as the plastic is very soft and flexible. If someone sat on it, it would collapse. It also had a small crack in the top where the handle attaches. But for $30 on sale, it will work for puppy training.     • It's an okay product for light use, some questionable flaws
I got the 26" kennel for my 5 month cat to use as his little 'house' to stay quiet in for his post-neutering recovery. I was a little bummed when my item arrived somewhat scuffed up with a little bit of a stain on the top. Thankfully most of the scuffs are covered when I overlap my two pieces together. I really needed this for my active post-surgery cat, so I kept it despite the cosmetic damages. Honestly the handle for this item doesn't feel or look very secure. I haven't looked at the other carriers at the stores, so I can't compare the build and make of these carriers in general, but for the price difference I see, I feel like this carrier is OK for my needs. I don't intend to use this carrier for traveling much, and intend to keep it as a safe space inside for my cat. The slot to hold the handle looks poorly designed like they just quickly melted the plastic to be able to put the handle in, and looks like it can eventually weaken and possibly stretch enough for the handle to just slip out. I would be extra careful if your pet is a little heavier. It was also difficult to get most of the latches to latch on properly. I was only able to easily latch on 3 or 4 latches, and the rest I couldn't. I remember reading one of the reviews suggesting to push out the plastic a little to latch it, so that is what I did after being unable to latch for a good 15 minutes and almost giving up. If you have difficulty latching, push out the plastic tub (bottom piece) from inside and then try latching it again. I couldn't reach inside and try to latch some of the latches at the same time since the my carrier was pretty large, so I had to get somebody to push from inside while I latched it. I also don't understand the two flaps that we are supposed to put at the top. The two side hinges fit OK, but it looks like the middle part is supposed to be able to pushed into the slot on the carrier itself (there's two very non-symmetrical slits that I would guess is for the flaps to secure itself into). It doesn't fit in at all , so I have two flaps on the top that anyone can really just pull up and down. This is more of just a minor inconvenience since it doesn't really have a function to me other than just tying down the whole look. On the bright side, I really like that it has the screws on each corner to help secure it a bit more, and it is quite spacious with a good price for my little cat. If you want to secure it even more, you can even zip tie the latches down as well (zip ties not provided). If you travel a lot and have a heavier pet, I suggest carrying the carrier on the sides instead of the handle or finding a different product. ... show more

Recently we added a second canine companion to our home. We had one crate like this and bought another to match. It’s a real sturdy item with both clips and bolts to hold the shell securely, a handle makes for easy lifting/carrying, and the plastic shell cleans simply/thoroughly if there’s an accident. ... show more

I move my two cats to an outside catio using a carrier every day. My old carrier is probably 20 years old and the handle finally gave out. I was excited to see this one as it's a bit bigger and said it could be used for animals up to 25 pounds. My cats together weigh 21 pounds. The carrier came quickly and right away I felt skeptical about the quality. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is hard to clip the latches between top and bottom. Additionally, the plastic is thin and bends easily under pressure. Definitely would not actually use this for travel as it might compress if stacked with other carriers in plane or something. The most serious situation however is that the handle is so poorly designed, given the soft flexible plastic, that the handle popped out the very first time I lifted it with my cats in it. Thank goodness it was only from a couple of inches! A bigger drop could have really injured them. I'm returning this carrier. It might be worth it for an indoor crate but it is in no way safe to life with animals inside. ... show more

The kennel came with a piece chipped out where the top clasps onto the bottom. It feels flimsy anyway and with one clasp not fully working I have no confidence it will keep the dog confined should he try to get out.
