What I like best about this product is the ease of getting it set up and using it. After reading the instruction booklet and watching the short video online, I was able to immediately begin using the collar and transmitter. Our newest dog has run out the front door and across our busy street a few times, and we needed to put a stop to that dangerous behavior. We figured out the correct parameters, set that number on the transmitter unit, and walked the dog with the collar on around the yard. Every time it beeped, we reinforced it with a sharp “No!” and pulled her back away from the boundary. By the second day of practicing, she was stopping at that invisible boundary on her accord!! We did not need to use the ‘zap’ feature often or above a level 3 - it’s very effective. Another plus: The recharge capacity on the transmitter and collar works quickly and lasts a long time. This is a reasonably priced & useful tool for training a dog. ... show more

I had this for about a week before I sent it back. As a preface, I've owned two other remote training collar systems and bought this because of the fence mode. The advertised range in the photos is 500ft radius, 1000ft diameter, but the instructions for the device indicate a range of up to 250ft radius, 500ft diameter. Even this want true. On a sunny clear day, I measured barely over 200ft when there were no obstructions. And it wasn't consistent between the two collars; one had a slightly shorter range. I checked the shock levels in each before putting them on my dogs. At the lowest level they were extremely powerful. By comparison, my other training collars are a mere tickle at the lowest level and reach a similar power near their strongest. I regretfully used them anyway and was dismayed that my dogs yelped during boundary training. I could tell it was painful for them. After training, I was more dismayed to learn they trigger with minor obstructions even when close to the transmitter. A tree or a wall between the dog within 50 ft of the transmitter will cause a shock. But that's not the worst of it, the battery died in the middle of my second day of use after a full charge and surprisingly triggered the collars to shock. My dogs were on the porch within a few feet of the transmitter when they both were shocked for several seconds before I realized what was happening. I was okay with the product but instructions and the download video left an implied understanding of programming only one pet not two at a specific interval. I never got the clarity in better details on how to do two dogs simultaneously , so it was an assumption that individual dogs have to be done separately. I wouldn’t expect more clarity but in my purchase there are two collar receivers for one transmitter…? ... show more

I've always hated the idea of using a shock collar but with a newborn and an unruly 6 month puppy, it was necessary. Come to find out, I only had to use the shock a handful of times.     • Worst wireless fence I’ve ever seen

This thing is garbage. I’ve been using a wireless fence for my lab for abt five years. I had a mishap with her old collar and this system with two collars was cheaper than a replacement. It works great as a training collar. As a fence, it will traumatize your dog. The range is inconsistent so it may go off at anytime which is very confusing for the dog. The shock can’t be turned down and even on the lowest level is actually painful. Rubber caps installed and it still shocks enough to hurt. My dog being trained on a collar knows that beep means to turn around. However, this thing will randomly beep AND shock making it so she has no idea what’s even going on. If she even sees this collar now she will only cower and sit on my feet. Keep in mind we’ve been successfully using a wireless fence for years and she knows that beep means to turn around. This colar worked for 2 days. We charged it at night. It began to shock our dog when he went 1/2 as far as we had it set up for with no sound warning beforehand. He is a 20 lb dog and level 1 was way too high static shock for him. Will be returning and hopefully find a more suitable replacement.
