  • Works like many vet ear cleaners
For YEARS I've been using this PET MD Otic cleaner for the dogs I groom + for my own dogs! It's very effective and I continuously recommend it to my customers whose dogs have dirty ear issues so they can use it at home. It saves them trips to the vet! Only put 1-3 drops in the infected ear twice a day,(The amount of drops used depends on the size of ear canal, but DON'T ever FLOOD the ear. Even on larger dogs I could use just 3 drops sometimes.) Immediately after drops are in, gently squeeze under the ear to work the solution down into the canal, then wait at least 30-45 secs,(If the ear is really dirty, then leave it in longer.) ONLY use cotton balls to gently wipe out the ear until it's clean.(But NEVER use Q-TIPS, + don't hit the eardrum with the cotton balls either!!! You can seriously damage the eardrum + create a huge vet bill!) Clean the inner earflaps too because pollen + dirt can be there too. Results can be immediate or within 3 consecutive days. (If a lot of stuff is on the cotton balls after 3 days of committed use, then call a vet, because most likely there's a more serious infection. Or if your dog won't even let you lift the ear flaps, skip this cleaner and bring them to a vet. It's much more serious.) But this cleaner really lifts some of the gunk deep in the ear where infections are trying to start. This cleaner has a light, pleasant, sweet, candy-like scent and works great as just a basic ear cleaner too! ... show more

  • Makes ear day a bit easier around here.
I have Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and like most spaniels, they have heavy, hairy, drop ears that tend to hold moisture and get infections easily. Keeping them clean is a pretty frequent job, and I have a myriad of products and items that help me achieve that goal as best as I can. This product has a pleasant, though a little strong, scent that lingers after cleaning and helps make ears smell fresh. It's solely for your benefit, though.. my dogs don't seem to care either way. It works well on their ears. My dogs sit in front of me and get their ears treated and then gently rubbed at the base to move the liquid around in the canal and help break up any wax or dirt. Then I gently wipe out the outside of the ear with a circular cotton pad to clean the excess, and dispense a treat to the victim and send them on their way. In all of my dogs, it seems to do well keeping the canals clean and dry, they smell good, and it doesn't cause irritation. However, my cat did not have the same luck on that score, and when I tested a little swab of it on the inside of his ear flap, he immediately reacted and his eyes started to water, and he was shaking his head and pawing at his ears. So I cleaned the spot on the ear with a little soap and water, and after a while the reaction ceased. So I haven't used it on him since then, and won't try it again. Your mileage may vary, and I think he was just sensitive to something in the ingredients.. plenty of people in the comments have had good luck with it on their cats. Just be cautious and test it first to be sure before putting multiple drops in their ears. In no way do I feel like that was the fault of the product.. as I said, I think Rhys was just sensitive to something in it, and that's just always a risk. The dogs have had no issues and it works great for them, so I will continue buying it and just continue to use my previous method with my cat since it worked fine for him. This product is definitely worth a try, especially if you have problem ears like my spaniels do. ... show more

  • Otic clean
It seems to be getting the job done and it has a nice smell. My dog doesn't really like it but he cooperates because he gets a treat after. His ears are much cleaner and he isn't shaking his ears or scratching much at all anymore

  • I would give it 6 stars if I could
This product works wonderfully. My kitten has horribly dirty ears. I have taken him to the vet and they say its not an infection and not ear mites. They just say he has dirty ears. They have cleaned his ears for me and shown me how to do it and just told me to keep up cleaning them. When I use q-tips to clean my cats ear he usually lets me get one really good swipe before he figures out what I am doing and starts fighting me. Unfortunately, that is NEVER enough. His ears are usually so packed with junk that one swipe barely gets 1/4 of the job done. So then I end up doing like one swipe a day to slowly work away at it. By the time I get to the next ear, the other is dirty again. Its never ending and I felt bad for the little guy so I decided to try and find something to help. I ordered this and it arrived in the mail today. I was super excited to try it out. First of all, I didn't really read much into the product description, I usually rely on the reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised that the bottle was like the size of a water bottle. I was expecting it to be like an eye drop bottle. Like the ones the vet uses. So that was great. I grabbed my kitten and snapped a picture, dumped some in his ear, rubbed it for a second, let him shake, and just quickly wiped off the excess. As you can see by the picture (gross I know) it worked wonderfully. It literally took me about 2 seconds. Quick enough he even let me take before and after photos. Granted his ear is still a little dirty but man I have NEVER been able to get them that clean with q-tips. The gunk just came right out. I will give him a second go about later on and then his ears will be perfectly clean. I am so happy. ... show more

  • Cleans debris from the ears and leaves a good smell
The product is ok. Not sure if it really helps with the itching but maybe it's because i used it only 1 time for my bully. He still itches his ears but there isn't a stinky smell.I guess i will have to keep using it to really clean out his ears. He doesn't have mites or anything just some irritation. And yes we went to the vet to check up on all of it. The product or products like this aren't cures for certain symptoms your Dog or cat has, but this product did seem to clean out some of the dirty stuff in his ears. Not sure if it stings or not but my dog rain like he saw a ghost when we saw me pull the bottle out of my pocket. ... show more
