  • Makes touch-typing near-impossible. Lacks many tactile cues.
Style: Wired
Note: I'm a linux system administrator. I spend 8+ hours per day on a keyboard, and on a Microsoft Natural Elite keyboard, I can type 110-120 words per minute. I suppose you could grow accustomed to it, but initial impressions aren't great. The tactile feedback of the buttons is pretty bad - it feels squishy. Also, the lower rows of keys are kind of crowded, making Ctrl & Alt rather tricky to find by feel. This, combined with the fact that the key caps are flat and not cupped, means it's really tough to get a feel for where your hands are on the keys. It's led to me to make a lot more typos, and it's tricky to feel what you did wrong, because of the squishiness of the keys, which means I commonly backspace & make the same typo repeatedly. I haven't looked at my fingers while typing in decades, but this keyboard actually has me doing it again. It's 'okay', but I'd rather use a conventional Dell QuietKey, I think. Disappointing - I had high hopes for this one. Edit: I thought I'd get used to it, but the more I use it the more I hate it. Where 'c' should be, instead it's the gap between 'c' & 'v'. The perfectly flat keys and the key crowding on the 'zxcv' and 'ctrl' rows has me constantly making typos. I can *kind of* get used to regular typing, but every time I try to use a less-common key (ie: the numbers, function keys, etc), I completely lose my hand placement on the home row. Spacing is all wrong, too. Note: The gap between 'q' and '1' is exactly the same size as the gap between '1' and 'F1'. There should be a wider separation there, so your fingers can find the F# keys. It's basically impossible to hit Alt+F4 on this keyboard without looking at it to find where the heck both 'Alt' and 'F4" are located. No joke, after using my "shiny new toy" for 2 hours, I feel progressively more angry and frustrated, and I had to unplug it before I started throwing things. I literally just dug an old stock Dell QuietKey out of a box in the closet to replace this one, because I can not tolerate using it. Does it work? Yes, technically there's nothing wrong with the functionality of the keyboard. There are so many tactile hints we use for touch-typing though, that this keyboard lacks, that I simply can not tolerate it. ... show more

  • Wouldn’t re-purchase...
Style: Wired
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I wanted to love this keyboard. I like the shape of it, but that’s about it. The keys sound clunky. At first I thought it was quiet, but after about a day of use, they started making a clunking type of noise. I find myself very easily pressing other keys without even noticing, however a lot of the time, I tap a key and it feels like I got it, but It actually didn’t press enough. Its hard to explain, but it’s like there’s no feedback from the keys. On a normal keyboard, you can tell if you’ve missed a key or made a mistake, on this one you can’t. So if you’re trying to type something while looking at piece of paper, you’re going to have missed mistakes. The piece that attaches underneath to lift up the keyboard is quite useless since it’s uneven and makes it rock side to side. I also think it would have been. Ice to have a padded wrist rest. The one on the keyboard is hard plastic and quite u comfortable. Especially when you’ve been typing for a while and your wrists start to stick to it. I must also mention that a magnet this keyboard is to finger/wrist prints. I’m a bit of a neat freak and have to constantly wipe this thing down. At the end of the day, I would not purchase this again. ... show more

  • I’m not the type that likes to give 1 star reviews...
Style: Wired
I’m not the type that likes to give 1 star reviews and I try my best to find the good in everything, but.... I had such high hope for this keyboard. The layout was exactly what I was looking for and my monster hands fit nicely. The keys were not 100% responsive and I found myself correcting a lot of errors. The wrist rest is hard, but I expected that. I got the Keyboard May 11th and it dies Jun 15th. 5 days past the returnable date. If the seller or manufacturer is monitoring reviews, please make a product that last longer then a month. ... show more

  • Not the best option.
Style: Wireless
I bought a number of keyboards, looking for the right ergonomic fit. I'm going to return this one, and really agree with the other poster, Andrew. The keyboard has a really nice forward tilt with a high detachable riser. It also come with an excellent vertical ergonomic mouse, that is better than some others I have seen. Problems: *The keys are all fat and now dished out at all for your fingers. The function keys are also flat. This makes a continuous flat surface on top of the keys and it makes it hard to find your finger placement by feel along. *The C,V,B key row has too much curve with the b key of standard size, although there is plenty of room to be bigger, like the G, T, Y, and H keys near the center. This makes you miss the B key a lot because of the angle and small size. *The keys are rather loose on top of their mounts and noisy. This gives they keyboard a much cheaper feel when compared with for instance the Microsoft Sculpt keyboard. Pros: I like the scroll wheel and function lights in the center. The mouse in the desktop kit is one of the best vertical ergo mouses I've used. ... show more
