Description

This mantel can take the heat! Patented non-combustible mantel for use indoors or out. Extremely light-weight, strong, weather-resistant and easy to hang. The Zachary has a soft hand applied whitewash paint finish making each shelf unique in character and its own individual masterpiece. Transitional design that fits comfortably into a contemporary or traditional setting makes this piece the perfect addition to your indoor or out-door room. The ample 9 inch shelf depth allows plenty of display room. Pre-drilled metal hanger board, exclusive to this piece, allows for ease of hanging. Top shelf length 60 inches, bottom shelf length 60 inches, top shelf depth 9 inches, bottom depth 9 inches, overall height 5 inches. Weight 35 pounds. Pre-finished with hand applied whitewash paint.

We had a hard time finding a non combustible mantle so we were excited to find this one. Our framer framed the fireplace wrong so it was easier to change the mantle to non combustible than reframe. Price was good but were nervous to buy this without seeing the color. Looked for a local vendor but couldn’t find one with it in stock and we needed the mantle in a hurry. We ordered the Fontana. The color is not what we expected but it’s nice. It has a lot of grey in it and we thought it would be more brown wood colored. The only thing I wish is that there was a way to order samples. Extremely nice mantel, bomb proof packaging - I was a little nervous about it being shipped, dropped, kicked and scooted on its way to me. They way it was packaged they probably could have drug it behind the delivery truck(s) and it would have still arrived in great shape. As far as the mantle, it looks great and install easily. Be sure you pay attention to the 'no hardware included' note so you're ready with everything in hand when you are ready to do the install. It's not like you need anything special, but something to think about if you don't have tons of hardware like some of us. All you really need are good wood screws (assuming you're hitting all studs when installing). I should also mention it's very secure when hung, I was concerned I would have to add some construction adhesive or something as well for the occasional/possibility of a bump, but I think it's fine as-is just using the cleat. I will update the review later if my decision on this changes. ... show more

I purchased this mantle to protect my tv, installed above our outdoor fireplace. The mantle works wonderfully in absorbing the heat and shielding the tv. However, the mantle continually pops out of the wall bracket, away from the wall, and falls down onto the hearth. It has now cracked in many places. I cannot find a way to contact the company. I do not have anything sitting on this mantle, it is only a shielding device. We had it professionally installed. For the price, I would expect it to stay on the mounting bracket. I now have a severely cracked mantle. Very frustrating. ... show more

It will suffice, but it's not great. Most importantly, it does the job of being a heat shield above our very warm fireplace. The problem is that they chose a system that hangs it on the wall rather than attaches it to the wall. I've used the same system to hang heavy pictures in the past. It's barely sufficient to hold itself. Additionally, if your wall is not perfectly straight it will be more difficult to hang. ... show more

Needed to get a fireplace mantel to protect Sonos Sound Bar and 4K TV over the gas fireplace. Really nice design for mounting, including a solid metal mounting bar, giving you lots of options for screws to insure it's in a stud.. The finish makes these look like a high end wood mantel, but they are made of concrete composite to block heat from getting to the sound bar and TV. Took about 10 minutes total to mount. Because it's a hollow core, the mantel weighs around 40 lbs, not as heavy as other models. Note it does not come with screws, given the multitude of different mounting surfaces. ... show more

We just installed this mantle in July of 2020 and didn’t start using the fireplace until about October 2020. Within 2 months of light use it started cracking and becoming discolored. It was terrible difficult to install and with the ledger stone around it it would be incredibly difficult to replace. Feeling pretty disappointed overall with this purchase. ... show more

I had really high hopes, non-combustible mantles this size are hard to find. Unfortunately I was delayed in my project and didn’t open this package until I was outside my return window. Mantle stone was flaking around the perimeter, and the metal bracket was so bent that I can’t mount it tight to the wall and need to shim just to get it tight. Wish I could return and maybe try a different, perhaps this was a one off flaw? I may end up having to scrap it. It was light weight which was a plus, and think the concept could work well. I wish there were an option to contact the seller and try to find a solution, but still hoping they reach out due to my review. Very disappointed. ... show more

We have lived in our house since late '70s and have not had a mantle. I needed a non combustible one to meet fire code. This did the trick. It was a challenge mounting on very uneven rock surface but contractor worked it out. Thinking of adding corbels later.
