    • Great MagSafe wallet with some compromise

Was torn between MagSafe wallets, came down to this one or the official Apple one, both same price. Chose this one for 2 features: holds more, and also serves as a kickstand. The big feature for the Apple wallet is the Find My integration, which I’ll miss, but otherwise I am confident in my decision. This is an attractive, functional MagSafe wallet that does its job well. As a wallet, I love the slide out mechanism and the capacity. Easily hold 6 cards. As a kickstand it also performs excellently. The magnet is strong and the tension in the kickstand is effective for hitting any viewing angle. Works in both landscape and portrait. When not attached to the iPhone, it is a great slim wallet on its own. If you don’t use the kickstand feature often, it can also serve as a money clip/holder as the tension will keep the cash secure. The compromises with this wallet are mostly down to its bulk: it is fairly thick when stuffed with cards on the back of the iPhone, making it a bit awkward to use/store the phone when attached via MagSafe. It is also quite heavy for its size, even when empty, and easily doubles the weight of the phone. But I guess that’s the price to pay for a larger capacity and kickstand: a thicker, heavier wallet. Overall, I’m happy with it and would recommend it for people who need to carry more than 2-3 cards around. The Peak Design Mobile Wallet Stand is a really nice, minimal wallet. It can hold many cards, some cash, and the pull out tab makes it easy to take out your cards and grab what you need. The use of a magnet snap to keep your cards secure is great and has a nice click to it when closing. The material has a nice feel and is similar to their Peak Design bags/slings. My only disappointment is with the strength of the magsafe magnet and its relatively high price. While the magnet is not extremely weak, it is noticeably weaker than other wallet stands of similar design. It's not exactly a deal breaker, because the wallet does stay on fairly well, but at the current price, I would expect better. Opening and closing the stand is a little difficult due to the magnet that keeps the stand closed (which is nice btw) and the weak magsafe magnet. Attempting to open the stand actually pulls the wallet off your phone. Overall, I really like the Peak Design Mobile Wallet Stand, but would not recommend it due to its weakish magsafe magnet and the comparatively high price. At the end of the day, it's just a wallet stand, and there are other wallet stands at a better value. ... show more

After reading hundreds of reviews and watching tons of youtube videos on magsafe wallets, i finally settled on purchasing this one from Peak Design to upgrade from my simple handmade leather card holder from a local craftsman. Upon opening the package which is simple and minimal, I immediately felt like this was a premium item that was really well made and thoughtfully designed. I was able to fit 6 cards snuggly (3 embosed cards and 3 non) and they weren't too difficult to to put in/out with the pull tab. I think with time and frequent use it will be easier as it breaks in. The pull tab that doubles as a magnet closure is a really nice touch to keep your cards in securely. The stand feature was a really big reason why I made this purchase as I am constantly propping my cell phone on things just to check it quickly while not wanting to hold onto it. The hinge on the stand is nice and tight and holds very firmly. I'll be interested to see how it holds up over time, but it really does feel very solid. The bonus about the stand feature I didn't think about is that when holding the phone with the stand in open position, you can rest your finger underneath and use it as a makeshift phone grip! That was a pleasant surprise! The wallet is a little on the heavy side, but to be perfectly honest, it doesn't bother me and I hardly even notice it. Even with 6 cards, this thing is very low profile and is very unnoticeable when in my pocket. My ONLY minor complaint is what most people have mentioned which is the somewhat weak magnetic hold to your phone. I have an off brand phone case that has a fairly strong magnet and it holds just "okay". It does a great job holding in stand mode, however I didn't buy this wallet to keep fixed to my phone at all times. So that doesn't really bother me. I think this is the only improvement this case could use. Otherwise, it's a solid WIN and i'm very pleased and happy with my purchase. Amazing feel and build quality. you pay a premium for a true premium product. Some may worry it can get dirty but you can wash it with soap and water. It tries overnight and feels and looks as good as new! Also get a case with a strong magnet and you'll be happy. Fun fidget toy too

    • Don't recommend if you keep phone naked

Just want to preface by saying that I'm a huge fan of Peak Design products... I own several. In terms of quality of materials and clever design, this mobile wallet stand is top notch (as you'd expect from PD). I have an iPhone 12 that I've used naked with the Apple Magsafe leather wallet for years (which I've been happy with). What drew me to the Peak Design was the ability to pull out your cards without detaching wallet from phone. The instant dealbreaker for me upon trying it is how weak the magnet was. If you want to remove cards with wallet on the phone, it will slip out of place. If you want to pull out the stand, it will come out in place. The Peak Design promo video markets this as having a super strong magnetic connection. I'm sure that's the case if you're using it in conjunction with their Everyday case. If you're like me and don't use cases and don't need space for more than 3 cards, I'd probably look elsewhere. If you want to spend $59 for the wallet stand + $49 on the case, then I'm sure it will work as marketed. One other thing worth noting is that it feels noticeably bulkier and less comfortable in your hand compared to the Apple one. ... show more
