This is THE backpack, hands down! Not going to repeat what other people mentioned. Here is the thing tho: when you put a lens in the middle drawer, the zipper sliders of the mid pockets on both sides end up aligned with the lens glass. There are some realllllly tiny weeny fabric pockets, but they don't cover the zipper sliders. IF by perchance the lens cap falls off, or you're in a hurry and drop a lens in the mid drawer without the cap, the glass will be in contact with the zipper slider. Not sure how much time it will take for disaster to happen, but who wants to take that chance? It's almost hilarious that such a GREAT design missed on this improvement opportunity, ESPECIALLY since the first version of the backpack and the zipper (cheaper) version are all marred by the same issue. All Peak Design products are amazing (I have almost all of them), but most of their products have these small issues that are maddening to me. The tripod, if you install the spikes, does not fit the case by half a millimeter. It's like someone designed them, and then decided it doesn't make sense to make a perfect product, let's put some friction in there, something to drive people up the wall. Hilarious. I carry an older DSLR camera that all together with lenses, filters, batteries and other parts of a kit gets heavy. my bag usually weights 16 pounds with all my gear. It is so comfortable to use this bag and hike or just go out with it. it is very water proof, and very low profile too. it is pricey though. i think its worth it because you can register the bag on the Peak Design website and get a life time warranty. 10/10 ... show more

    • One Pack to Rule Them All

This backpack is the best pack I have ever owned bar none. I have Hex, Chrome, and Lowepro packs to name a few. They are all great in their own way and good for what I used them for, but this pack is more versatile, useful, and comfortable to carry. I have lower back problems, and some packs irritate my back, and I end up in pain. Not this pack. It’s so easy to adjust while wearing so that my back issues when carrying gear have gone away. I am a teacher. Due to the pandemic, I teach my courses online and enhance them with videos. I decided to shoot those videos vlog style and post them on YouTube. I needed a backpack to carry my camera, lenses, microphones, and other gear. I shoot these videos hiking with my dogs every morning. This pack has room for all my stuff and then some. I have used this pack for a couple of weeks and am still discovering ways to adapt the space to better suit the gear I want to carry. This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. I have the Peak Design capture clip, too. Peak Design is a company that like Apple are never done perfecting their equipment. They use what they build and listen to their customers. That combination means their equipment is refined and goes beyond your expectations for how they work. I will continue to purchase their products because they are well made, and Peak Design stands behind their work providing lifetime guarantees. They are a green company with zero carbon emissions. I liked the charcoal and midnight blue colors better but bought the black because it’s the vegan option. If you are looking for an everyday backpack that is versatile, well made, comfortable to carry that protects your gear, buy this pack. You won’t be sorry.     • A beautiful idea but missing necessary space.

To start off with, I'm not a camera guy. I happen to have several bulkier things that I like to carry that don't nicely fit into a normal bag without uncomfortable stacking and making it hard to get to everything. The moment I saw this bag I fell in love with it's internal shelf mechanism and side access zippers. The bag also has all sorts of other great design features that seem like they'd come in handy once in a while such as the attachment straps for things like coats or blankets. Pros: * Fantastic adjustable internal shelf system for easy access to everything in the bag. * Satisfying top latch that can keep the top contents tight no matter how full it is (others seem to dislike this latch, but I personally quite liked it). * Lots of little design choices that fit many little use cases such as a key strap for keeping track of your keys, side pocket straps to hold things like umbrellas better, little pockets in the side wings of the bag, etc. That being said, to me the biggest flaw in this bag is the unbearably small full length pouch (designed to hold a laptop... but not much else). I know this is primarily a camera bag, but the size of this pocket seems like a huge oversight. When pushing in a laptop, it is incredibly tight and is even hard to get your fingers in to pull it back out. I could also fit in my iPad too if I pushed hard, but that cased the rest of the bag to feel tense as it pushed so hard against the main chamber. Ideally I'd like to fit in a book too or maybe some full sized documents, but I fear they'd just be crushed while being pushed into the bag. For the price of this bag, I just can't justify not being able to carry a bit more full sized items considering the price of this bag. Cons: * The laptop/tablet pouch is WAY too tight/small. * The main compartment has very little leniency for stretching in/out. ... show more
