Use Shell with the Capture Camera Clip or any Peak Design strap (sold separately) to keep your camera accessible in any environment. AVAILABLE IN 3 SIZES Available in 3 sizes for a snug fit with almost any camera/lens combo THIS LISTING IS FOR MEDIUM Crop-sensor DSLRs with any size lens and/or battery grip. Any size DX lens. If you're using a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 pro lens on a Nikon D5300 body, you'll want a Large Shell. WHAT SIZE SHELL DO I NEED? Please note, Shell fitting is not an exact science, and depends on personal preference too... If you've looked at the above charts and you still can't decide, then use these guiding principles to get you through these tough times: 1. Keep in mind, for most camera/lens sizes there are 2 Shell sizes that will fit your camera. So, this isn't a life or death situation. 2. Shell is made to stretch and fit your camera snugly. For any given camera size, a smaller Shell will fit your camera more snugly and a larger Shell will have a baggier fit. 3. A tighter fit is better for carrying your camera in Capture since everything will be nice and snug. A looser fit is better if you plan to actively shoot with Shell in the rain since it will be quicker to pull Shell up and access your controls. 4. Even if you get the larger Shell size, it will be much more snug-fitting than other camera rain covers on the market. Another advantage of picking the larger size is that you can cinch Shell closed all the way around your camera, even when using long lenses with hoods. 5. If you have a DSLR and a mirrorless camera, consider getting 2 Shells. You really don't want to use anything bigger than the small Shell for a mirrorless camera. WORKS WITH CAPTURE CAMERA CLIP OR STANDALONE ANCHOR PORTS Allow use with any Peak Design strap SECURE Completely cinches closed for safe camera stowage SMALL FOOTPRINT Packs down small into its built in storage pocket STRETCHABLE 4-way stretch fabric is seam-taped to resist rain, snow, dust and abrasion CONVENIENT Access viewfinder and controls without removing SMALL SIZING Mirrorless cameras with any size lens. Ex: Sony NEX, Sony a7 and a7ii series, all Micro 4/3 cameras, etc. Crop-sensor DSLRs with kit or small prime lenses and no battery grip. Ex: Canon Rebel, Nikon D3xxx-5xxx Lens Ex: 18-55mm DX lens, 35mm, 50mm DX lenses, etc. Almost any size lens. If you're using a Sony a7ii with the Sony 70-200 FE lens, you'll want a Medium Shell. LARGE SIZING Full-frame DSLRs with any size lens and/or battery grip. Ex: Canon 7D, 5D, Nikon D7xxxx, Nikon D6xx-8xx, etc. Lens ex: Nikon/Canon 70-200 f2.8, any tele/zoom lens 300mm+ Flagship DSLRs with any size lens. Ex: Canon 1D, Nikon D4 Almost any size lens. If you're using 600mm+ lenses, Shell will fit around your camera body but will not cover your entire lens. Also note that we have not tested Shell on medium-format camera bodies. Shell is designed for DSLR and mirrorless cameras, so we don't currently recommend it on other kinds of cameras. If you find that it works on any medium/large format cameras, please let us know!

  • Worth every penny.
Should have purchased this years ago. Great quality.

  • No better than a ziploc bag
It is a glorified plastic bag. Once you put the cover on your camera you would not be able to take photos with your camera. A $1 ziploc would do a better job at protecting your camera while still allowing you to shoot pictures in light to medium rains (touch screen would not work though).

  • Super useful and does what it's supposed to. Still room for improvement!
I own a Sony A7iii and this medium size bag is the perfect fit for both my 24-70 mm lens and 24 mm Canon Rokinon with Sigma lens adaptor. I recently took it on a hike through the super snowy wet mountain hike and it repelled water and protected my camera like nobody's business! I used it in tandem with the Peak Design v3 clip to mount it to my backpack, so my camera would have otherwise been exposed to the elements the entire time. My only complain is that it is rather difficult to use inside the cover, so I was constantly removing it and putting it back on. As a result, it caught my eye piece and I lost it during the hike. The eye piece is super replaceable so I didn't mind losing it to protect my camera from all the moisture! And because the bag is so flexible it's easy enough to roll up and stash in my pocket when I'm in an area where I'm taking lots of photos. Really great product! I think and improvement would be for the bag easily flex up to reveal the camera body so there isn't a need to fully remove the bag to get full use of my camera. ... show more

  • Excellent product.
I am not sure why Peak Design has decided to discontinue this item, as its amazing. But whatever the reason, they need to bring it back. Its much more efficient, then the plastic bag-like camera covers. The packability, features, and ease of use, make this item invaluable to have in your gear bag. 10/10 would recommend. 20/10 would suggest manufacturing again. ... show more

  • Really cumbersome to use (Size Medium with Fuji X-H1)
I'm a fan of Peak Design products and was looking for a rain cover just to protect my camera while it is mounted on my backpack strap. As described, this item is exactly what I was looking for. I purchased the medium size for my Fuji X-H1. I only tested it with the 18-135 lens since all of my other lenses are larger. The X-H1 with the 18-135 is a fairly compact setup, but getting the cover on and off was really cumbersome. I was hoping that I could just peel back the body of the cover and keep it scrunched up over the lens barrel, but the material is too stiff and bulky. The material on the inside also sticks to the rubber eyecup cover and creates a ton of friction. So even though it's physically the right size and has plenty of looseness, it's still difficult to put on and take off. The thing I like most about the Capture Clip (how I carry my camera on the backpack strap) is that it is extremely convenient to access the camera and take a picture. Having to deal with this cover is about as inconvenient as having the camera in my backpack and pulling it out each time I want to use it. I think it's mostly a problem with the goal of the design. It's like they weren't sure if they wanted this to be left on the camera when shooting (which would explain the tight fitting lens portion and lens visor) or to be removed when shooting. This would be be better if they just focused on making it easy to remove and not tried to make it so you can use the camera while it is on (like a higher quality version of just using a shower cap). ... show more

  • durable, reliable and well designed but only you can determine if it's a good value.
Probably one of the most thought out and overdesigned rain covers for a camera ever devised. However, it manages to have no faults, from what I can perceive while using it. It even manages to fold into itself for compactness, giving it more reason to live in your bag at all times. Medium is sized just right to fit a mirrorless camera, like my Fujifilm X-T2, combined with the 16-55mm ฦ’/2.8 lens. It's a little short when used with my 50-140mm ฦ’/2.8 lens. Both lenses and camera body are weather resistant but the cover serves to ensure everything stays dry when the rain is really pissing down, as it does here in Seattle. The cover has a small lip, in case you aren't using your lens hood. Secured by an internal bungee, it works with anything up to 82mm in diameter, it seems, maybe even larger. The rear also has a bungee to secure around the camera body when not in use. All in all, it works and is made from durable materials. May not be worth the price to you, but it's better than buying plastic bags repeatedly. ... show more

  • Love other Peak Design products, but not this cover.
To anybody considering this, be aware that you can not operate your camera with the slip fully protecting it. You have to flip the back up exposing the camera body, take your shot, and then flip the back back down. This experience wasn't abundantly clear when I purchased this product. Maybe I didn't do enough research, so I'll take some of the blame. However, the marketing and images make it seem like the camera body will have quite a bit of protection when shooting, but I found it nearly impossible to operate the camera without completely exposing the body. Even after I accepted that I had to expose my body, the process of loosening the cinch cord, flipping the back up, and trying to use the camera controls with the case on is pretty cumbersome. On a recent trip, I tried for several rainy days to use the case with a Sony A7III and I just couldn't get it down smoothly. The camera is "weather sealed", but known to have imperfect sealing around the hot shoe and battery door, which are both exposed when using this case. Eventually I just covered the weak spots with gaffers tape, tucked the camera under my waterproof jacket when not in use, and exposed the entire camera for short periods to take shots. That worked a lot better for me. I own many other Peak Design products and have been insanely happy with them. The Slide Lite and Cuff are magical products to use, and finally ended my search for the perfect strap system. Seriously, you should go buy those products if you don't own them. But this $50 case was an expensive dud that will likely sit at home. ... show more

  • A Great Camera Accessory
I live in the PNW and to say it's wet up here is an understatement. Recently was out shooting and it started to rain. I slipped this cover on and felt pretty confident that my camera was safe. Though I would recommend to spray it water repellant just for that extra added level of protection. I normally do this with most gear that will have to endure the elements of my area. ... show more
