I never wear liquid foundation but I do use a powder one with a kabuki brush. I need an SPF due to using a retinol cream at nights now. Applying moisturizer, primer, SPF, then foundation and blush just is way too much work and too many layers on my face!! Paula's Choice Resist is ALL of the above minus the blush. The tint works on every complexion shade, isn't heavy and best of all doesn't make my face sweat or breakout. All this and sunscreen too!! So Paula's Choice Resist and mascara - I'm ready to go feeling pretty and protected. I carry the travel size in my purse and have bought the 2 fl. oz. size as well. After several uses the tube becomes messy so be careful not to squeeze too hard as a lot of product will come out and you will really only need half of it. this is probably my all time fav tinted SPF in terms of cosmetic elegance. I have extremely sensitive skin. I also have dry skin with hormonal acne. PROS -great spread even though it dries matte -color match is perfect for my skin tone, but idk if i would work with medium and deep skin tones -medium coverage looks like natural skin but better than mine -doesn't irritate my highly sensitive skin CONS -only 30 SPF, I wish it was 45+ -MUST moisturize beforehand, because this dries matte -more expensive than other tinted spfs I use other tinted SPFs that don't require moisturizing beforehand, but they don't dry matte and have much lighter coverage. ... show more

I’ve tried a bunch of spf moisturizers and for the most part did not keep with them for a variety of reasons including being too drying, too much residue, making me sheet white/ sickly looking, too oily/ greasy, making me breakout or itchy. This one, while not perfect has been the best yet as it is the least oily, is lightweight, applies evenly, not drying, doesn’t make me breakout or itchy and overall good for sensitive skin but also it has a slight tint which is at least better than no tint. I will say I am naturally very pale compared to most people so this works for me and even for myself, I wish it gave a bit more color but it doesn’t make me look sick, it just looks natural on my face. I’ve also learned to apply moisturizer underneath and then this spf tint applies much smoother. And if I want some color, I will add a bronzer powder on top of it. I do use it every morning after I’ve washed my face and I like it. I like that it’s made of zinc oxide meaning mineral based as opposed to a chemical based sunscreen and 30 spf is enough protection from sun damage for me for daily wear. It’s also very inexpensive compared to others I’ve tried which is an added bonus. It’s close to perfect for me and I’ve tried nearly all the drug store ones, Elta MD, PCA skin, Cerave, cetaphil, Obagi, Skinceuticals, Dermatologica, Revision and a few others. This is just ok, it’s nothing special. Does not really even out the skin. It does apply smoothly but I felt it was kind of drying. Unfortunately Paula’s Choice products tend to have a lot of silicone or silicone type ingredients, the kind that likes to peel up anything under it or anything rubbed over it 9/10 times. Because of that I won’t repurchase or recommend because it’s super irritating to get through your skin care routine and then have it all start rubbing off. Outside of the PC toners I’ve found most of their products end up doing that and it’s incredibly frustrating because it’s not a cheap brand. If I use this on its own with not much else under it it’s not too bad but it’s too drying to be used without another moisturizer and when I do it doesn’t play well with anything else. So I guess if you have oily skin and don’t plan on using much beyond this it’s not a bad choice but it also isn’t anything special and a lot of drugstore SPF works just as well if not better. ... show more

There is literally nothing from her line I don't love. Everything is such top quality. This is a very lightweight tinted moisturizer with nice glide across the skin. It blends seamlessly. My only criticism I guess would be that the tint is fairly light. It'll blend into any skin tone I think, but if you were more medium or dark skin tone you won't be getting any color from this. I'm hoping she makes these in some other shades soon for those of us who use tinted moisturizer as a foundation. ... show more

    • Tiny and Whitecast Galore!

Bottle is ridiculously tiny. I assumed travel size would mean it's just a bit small, but it is literally the size of my palm, a bit smaller actually. For $12, that is RIDICULOUS. You should be ashamed. Sunscreen is not just a cosmetic, it is protection for ones health, so pricing it like this for such a small bottle is completely disgusting. Upon initial glance, I even let the size slide because I assumed the quality of the sunscreen would be amazing. Well, I was WRONG. When you first squeeze it onto your hand, it seems nice. But rub it into your face and oh god -- the WHITECAST!! It is completely horrible. No amount of rubbing will get it away. And unless you're putting just a drop of sunscreen on your face, good luck with getting the whitecast to go away! I am not even dark skin toned and am on the lighter side of tan yet the white-cast was horrible on my face. I can not speak to the sun protection as I IMMEDIATELY took it off my face after trying to rub out the whitecast for 10 minutes to no avail. I would NOT RECOMMEND this at all. Save your money and buy a better sunscreen at a much lower cost, bigger quantity, and better quality with no whitecast. I will be continuing my hunt for a good sunscreen. The only reason I am fine with giving a 1 and not a 0 is that unlike other sunscreens I've tried (and yes, even mineral ones!), this one did not burn my eyes when I put it around them.
