My Paul Mitchell iron broke after 7 years. I was devastated and scared to replace it with another flat iron. I did multiple reviews and looked up multiple irons and landed on this one. As scared as I was and how I felt nothing would compare to my old flat iron, I wasn’t disappointed!! This far exceeded my expectations and I like this one just as much if not better than my old one. Has multiple heat settings so I can use for myself with very thick curly hair and my daughter will thin wavy hair. It doesn’t pull my hair at all and it heats up SUPER FAST! I have had this straightener for about 6 months now so I feel good about writing a review on it. I seriously think about buying a “backup” in case anything happens to it. Love love love it. If I could give this flat iron more stars I would! I have really long, thick curly uncooperative hair that I have fought to control for years and years! When the humidity is low I like to blow dry it straight and hot roll it, however if the humidity gets above 55 percent my hair frizzed. I fell in love with this product when my stylist used it on my curly hair! I can actually straighten my curly hair in seconds! It smoothed it and even in high humidity it stays straight! I had been using the same flatiron for over 5 years, but the plates ended up cracking and started pulling my hair out, so it was time for a new one. Bought one from a salon. Lasted years, great shine, super fast heat up - just perfect. When it finally broke it was a no brainer to just order same from amazon as i Love amazon. My three daughters and i share our hot iron. Unfortunately it took passed the return date to realize there is something wrong with this one. We all weighed in separately on this issue and noticed: Long time to heat up, drags through hair roughly, does not smooth or add shine, no fluff reduction. Then i noticed it was dirty on the sides of the plates. My fault for not speaking up as i did not realize it was returnableand that each one of us thought our dissatisfaction was individual, so just a warning - notice any differences (if You’ve already had one) quickly and return promptly.
