  • Better than expecting - much better than Moab 6 by 5.11
Way better than I was expecting. I had passed on this bag and bought the 5.11 Moab 6. I thought it was bigger with more Molle loops and seemed more rugged. I own the Moab 10 so it made sense to me. I thought this was too featureless, not tough enough and too small. I was very wrong. First off the fit is spot on. I lays snug on the back and does not tilt at one end. The material is very rugged and durable. The look is more rugged than I would have thought as well. I was really surprised by how much fits in the main compartment. After your sunglasses, keys, wallet, phone, small first aid kit - you will still have room for a water bottle rain shell jacket and a snack. The zipper pouch on the main strap is just a bit too small to hold a modern cell phone like the Samsung G7 (come on Patgonia!) but it holds my favorite knife just perfectly. It has a quick release buckle on the front main strap if a bear should get hold of you, maybe you can release it and go. If you CCW carry it will easily accommodate a full sized 1911 and several extra mags - not a problem. Still have room for cuffs or ties and other small things. It is very well designed and when you spin the bag to the front both zipper pockets are right there, easily accessible. I would prefer if Patagonia made one of the pull cords a different color to make pulling the right one more certain - especially for CCW folks who may want a gun in a hurry - a red pull tie cord would be nice. Getting a notepad when you want a gun sucks. The smaller zipper pocket on the back is the most obvious place to carry your phone. it is a small pocket and will not hold much else, I carry a small spiral note pad with mine there. The 2 loops on the main strap are a must have and well placed. I use them to clip my carabiner key chain to them all the time. The back loop and front loop also make a good place to mount a small LED light so people see you in the dark when hiking or biking. One nice thing about this bag is that it is so slim you do not need to remove it to ride in a car. Just swing it under your arm pit and your bag is right there not getting tin the way. You may not want to drive any long distances with this strap on the right side of your neck and the seat-belt strap on the left, but for a short trip it is nice not to take it off. The same is true for outdoor eating - if you are worried about thieves, just don't take it off. Swing it under your armpit and you are good to go. At 6'3" tall this bag fits great! strap is adjustable and will fit a 5'2" person as well. The price is spot on and makes this a easy buy for anyone looking for a sling bag. Good for gym bag, day hiking with mild weather changes, CCW carry, baby bag - fits wipes, diaper, backup outfit and changing towel just fine. I use mine every day! ... show more

  • Great Pack!
I just got this in the mail a few days ago after researching it on multiple different websites for some time, and I have to say that I am loving this pack! It's larger than the Patagonia fanny pack but smaller than the other Patagonia Atom Sling (15 L) and Atom Pack (18 L), so it's not too enormous to take while running errands if you were to be so inclined. I, myself love to take this pack to the gym, as it comfortably holds my phone, wallet, keys, shirt, and headphones, as well as on small nature hikes where I can fit a pair of binoculars, and snacks in too. As for the other features, I love that the harness is very comfortable and adjustable so I'm able to get a great fit that is close to the chest, the readily available pockets, as well as the water repellant coating on the outside that has managed to keep my wallet and phone dry on multiple occasions recently! Overall I think this Atom Sling is a very convenient pack that can be used for multiple activities every day if need be, and I'm eager to see how it holds up over time! ... show more

  • Wife loves it!
I got this for my wife and she loves it. She had the white and blue version of this bag but wanted the black. She’s a tennis instructor and using a traditional person going to and fro work wise isn’t practical. It has that sporty vibe, hold the things she would need and then some. Because of its design/look, it offers a level of security that people aren’t going to rifle through it or think it’s her everyday bag….although I’m now spilling her secret online (oops). ... show more

  • Well made, comfortable to wear/carry
Use the sling pack to carry cell phone, wallet, etc when we are out for an adventure. Expensive but well made, functional to a point: not large enough to hold my IPad. Small zipper pocket in the strap works well for car keys. Overall a good buy.

  • Great bag
I wish I had discovered this years ago instead of using Fanny packs and backpack’s. This has just the right amount of pockets and is comfortable.
