I bought this for my wife’s 2018 Mazda 3. First time I got it I noticed that parts were missing so I returned it. When I got the second one it thankfully had all the parts but it wouldn’t fit her car. They won’t let me return it either. Do not buy!!

Disappointed that it arrived in a box that was torn and crushed. It was obviously not in original packaging. It had no instructions and the video did not correspond to the actual product. There were rubber protectors missing so it scratched the paint. It was strong enough to sustain four suitcases of carry on size. I would not recommend it to family or friends. ... show more

This seems like a very good rack for the price. I installed it on my '93 Toyota Corolla in about 15 minutes. I see folks complaining about the instructions and it being hard to assemble. Yes, the instructions are written in a language resembling, but not actually, English and are near incomprehensible. No, it not hard to figure out. If you're struggling to put this together, put down the tools and find someone who can use them. The plastic end caps for the rack bars are a very tight fit, and they're fragile. I found soaking them in boiling water would enlarge them enough to fit, but broke one before that occurred to me. The caps also have little slots in them, which make a delightfully irritating whistling from about 30 mph up. Put some electrician's tape over the slot from the inside and you'll have peace and quiet. I'll be replacing all the knobs with nylon stop nuts so I can be sure the rack will stay secure on rough roads. 09/13/23: I've made several modifications to these since buying them. One was replacing all the knobs with Nyloc nuts for security and peace of mind. Second was the SCREAM. I don't do a whole lot of highway driving, but when I do, these things would produce a polyphonic, cacophonous banshee howl that really defies description. Several different notes, all high, conflicting with each other at about 120 dB! Passing cars told me it was bad for them! Today, I took the crossbars off the rig, with the mounts still attached to the bars, and filled the hollow slots on the bottoms with spray-foam. After letting it set, I trimmed it with a sharp knife so you can barely see that it's there. I just took a 20 minute highway drive and... NO MORE SCREAM! ... show more

These do not fit the Mazda CX-9. We tried every which way. We even tried to use the clamps for the other cars to try to make it work.

    • Missing Pieces

Unfortunately when we received this we were in need of it for the following Monday. This didn't leave me a lot of time for there to be pieces missing. Also it says universal but when we got the instructions it says different. Apparently it's for Toyota, Mitsubishi, or Mazda. Unfortunately for us we have a Dodge Durango. My husband had to go out and buy replacement bolts and nuts because bolts were missing and the nuts were seized up and didn't work. He is still out trying to get parts to make it work for Monday. If it doesn't work it's going to put us in quite a bind. Very disappointed... After further trying to install this had been a nightmare. Cheap pieces. Nuts and bolts don't fit together. Had to rethread nuts. Buy parts. Complete garbage... That we are having to try to make work out of necessity. Huge damper on our boots summer v camp as we may have to drive multiple vehicles to make up for the list luggage space if this doesn't work out. ... show more
