  • Great first drone and great service from Parrot!
Color: Red Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I received the Bebop as a gift. My first drone. It flies? Neat! It's got a camera? Cool! Flew it a few times while getting used to it (read: crashed it). No biggie, there's a bit of a learning curve here, and I should have proceeded a bit more cautiously. That said I managed to break a few pieces that should be relatively easy to replace. I called their Support line and spoke with a very friendly person who, after hearing my desire to purchase certain parts for my new favorite gizmo, informed me that some of the parts that I need have not been available for an extended period. She then offered to replace the unit entirely! I even told her that in full disclosure, the drone I would be sending back is broken. They still insisted I send it back for a new replacement! As to the customer support at Parrot, I simply can not compliment them highly enough. For the drone itself. The video quality is great if your making home movies. 1080p isn't bad. There is no mechanical gimbal as it has been replaced by a clever software set up that stabilizes the image very well. I haven't really pushed the boundaries in terms of flight ranges but it works fine for around the park or a big back yard or what have you. I don't anticipate many of these will be flying kilometers away. It's easy enough to fly with the free app provided...once you get used to it. Most of all, the thing is just fun. Would I consider this "professional" quality. No, it simply doesn't have the hardware for that job. Is it just a toy quadcopter. No. It is a particular sophisticated camera drone with GPS capability and what I assume is highly developed software stabilization of the craft as well as the video. I'm impressed with its performance to the degree that I'm writing a review on it. I'm no expert, but I know I enjoy this thing and plan to use it often. I expect this is a great, inexpensive, first drone for someone, and I highly recommend it for that role. Longer lasting batteries would have been nice. ... show more

  • Good drone, terrible batteries, and even worse customer support.
Color: Red Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Got this drone as a present to myself in Fall 2017 that I saved up for quite some time. When I got it, I took it out to fly and immediately one of the batteries started blinking red in the charger.. meaning that they sent me a defective battery. I contacted Amazon and they sent me a $20 credit to make up for it (unfortunately batteries for this cost 40 or more so I was unable to replace it). So.. I started flying on the remaining battery and loved it! The product works great and it is super fun and fast. I probably flew it about 20 times or so, and it was around 11 minute fly times. Then many life changes happened and winter, and when I got out my drone and the battery in the Spring 2018, the remaining working battery was blinking red. I had no working batteries. I emailed Parrot through the app, and never heard back. This was within my six month battery warranty. Some more drastic life changes happened and I moved and got a new job. Finally, once things calmed down a bit I once again got out my drone and tried to charge either of the batteries and neither worked. So I contacted Parrot a few weeks ago thinking that they would either send me a new battery or at least give me a coupon toward a new one. Instead I get an email back saying I am not within my six month period and I get nothing. Not even an apology for a bad experience and a defective product. I emailed a couple more times and the emails got worse and more derogatory. They weren't even being kind to me about my situation. Expect great a great product, batteries that don't last, and don't expect to get any support on your product. I am not buying from them again. ... show more

  • Fun product! But Beware that the unit cannot be flown at high altitudes even though it says it can on the official website...
Color: Red Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Revised: Awesome product. BUT!!!!!! The website for the Bebop in support indicates that the unit is safe to fly to 2500 meters ~ THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. I opened a case this past week with Parrot after I had two flights start out of control and end with the Bebop falling out of the sky. As it turns out they have no idea at what altitude the unit becomes unstable but they admitted that the Drone 2.0 had a ceiling of 2000' and the Bebop would likely be in that vicinity. Which is terrible if you line in Las Vegas like I do. LV has an elevation of 2100'. Now I have never had an issue with the Bebop flying near my home. But this past weekend the flights were at 5,600' and it was pure disaster. Because the FAQ's at Parrot still state the ceiling is at 2500 METERS ~ I was duped into thinking that the unit would be safe for my desert SouthWest adventures. After spilling over 600.00 in the drone, spare batteries, and spare props, I am in battle to return the unit to Amazon. Amazon has first declined me because it is outside the 30 days window for a return. But seeing that the unit would have never worked according to the Parrot Bebop response I got this week I think Amazon should be willing to take up the issue with Parrot which still mis-advertizes on their website that the unit is safe to 2500 meters. ... show more
