  • A must have spare part for your drone 2.0!
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I've been flying the AR Drone 2.0 for a few months now. A few weeks ago I had an unfortunate wipe out and cleanly snapped my central cross. I ordered this guy off here and it showed up in two days. It comes with a new bottom plate (including adhesive), the cross with wiring, and the four black squares that adhere to the drone body on the outside. The repair is a bit strenuous but not that difficult. It took me about two hours. If you have no experience disassembling your drone I would highly recommend watching Parrots tutorial video on their website or youtube. It's a bit vague but gives you a general idea. It's a good idea to have a spare one of these on hand at all times because it is the most easily broken part, and at 25$ each, easily affordable. This is definitely the place to buy this part. Great Price, great seller. A must have! ... show more

  • Works, but know what you are getting into.
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I can't give this five stars. There are several reasons: 1. Parrot should make a more durable cross member or at least make it less likely to have to buy a replacement. If you own a Parrot AR Drone 2.0, you will end up buying this part - no doubt in my mind. 2. A lot of people have complained about this, but the installation is not easy. At least they give you the replacement plastic cover. You will need a sharp knife or razor to remove the old one. 3. You need to remove the prop, gears, motor, spindle etc. Most likely you have damaged one of your gears and props if you broke your central cross member. This should come with a set at this price (I paid a bit more than current pricing - they might have finally considered this). That being said, it did fix the unit and functioned as expected. I also ordered spare gears/shafts/props to replace with it. Check your props before replacing - if one spins much less freely than others it likely has a bad shaft - It's almost guaranteed you bent a shaft if you broke your cross member. FYI - Parrot support is awesome. Call them if you have any problems with your drone. They might be able to help you out before you have to order replacement parts. I would have, but they have already helped me out more than expected in the past. ... show more

  • Recommend Watching Instructional Videos by Tom Strong Reviews
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
My grandfather & I devoted more than two hours to replacing my cross. Since no instructions were provided by Parrot, we had no choice but to watch the meticulous instructional videos by Tom Strong Reviews, which I strongly recommend watching before you start doing the work yourself. In the end, it was worth it. I paid more than $400 (including tax & shipping) for my AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition, and I did not want to spend money on a brand new multirotor. It works just as well as the old cross, and I'm considering buying another should I break it again, as well as other spare parts to keep this alive as long as I can before this thing just quits. NOTE: After we successfully installed the new cross, the AR.Drone 2.0 would not attain lift. If this happens to you, this has nothing to do with the cross; it's likely your propellers have warped, which will require replacing. My multirotor flew just fine after replacing the propellers, though I may need new motors in the future. ... show more

  • Identical to original frame. High quality. Best option for replacement.
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Exactly as expected. It's a pain to install but that's not the products fault. My advice: don't break your frame in the first place. If you did, which is probably why you're reading this, it's an perfect fit.

  • Dont hit the Emergency Button
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
After hitting the emergency button when i panicked while flying in a light gust of wind wind the drone essentially fell out of the sky . My emergency button experience equated to it dropping out of the sky from 5 feet and landing on the ground hard enough to break the supports. I received my kit today and installed it with ease. Anyone who can solder or has basic dexterity within their hands can make the repair. ... show more

  • Make sure you order their tools as well
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I had the AR Drone 2.0 for about a week, and cracked one of the arms on a fall to the ground of about 7 feet. I didnt "fly it into the ground" at full speed, It was hovering, and just dropped. I hopped online to look for replacements, as well as instructions. I found a short video on the Parrot website that showed how to replace the arms. You basically have to take the entire device apart. Its a bit of a pain, but didnt look too hard. I found Amazon had the best price, so I ordered this replacement. There are two things you should know when ordering this replacement. First, you will also need their special Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Tool Kit, which is another $25 dollars. I read that the screws on the motherboard, which you need to remove, were Torx size 6. Ive been wanting a Torx set, so I ordered a nice little set off Amazon. The second thing you need to know, is the video that shows you how to replace the arm is not complete. It only shows you how to replace the arm itself. You will also need to remove each of the four motor units from the crossbar, and mount them on the new crossbar. To do this, you will need a special tool to remove cotter pins in each motor. Which is why just ordering a nice little Torx set wont do the trick, you need their set. So to sum it up, its costing me close to $60 bucks, and a lot of headache, to replace this crossbar. Needless to say, im not happy. I hope this saves someone else the headaches I had. Good luck. ... show more
