  • Unfortunately, I really like this refill. It's smooth, consistent, durable ink, lasts long...but it is expensive versus others
Style: Medium Tip Color: Black
I wish I did not like the black QuinkFlow ballpoint refills. But these things are incredibly smooth...and completely eliminate any of the 'scratchy' & 'skippy' writing that many refills result in. And while I absolutely hate most Parker refills (especially their Rollerballs and Quink Gels), these have become my favorite all-around refill. If you have had a mediocre or even a bad experience with other Parker refills (most have), know that this refill delivers a completely different experience on a very positive level! The writing action is smooth...unusually smooth actually. It is as-good or even better than the venerable Schmidt Easy Flow 9000, except the QuinkFlow ball point lasts significantly longer and is writes more consistently as the ink supply is depleted (the 9000s tend to skip as they start to run out). I mention the EasyFlow 9000 as it is the smoothest replacement I have had until these QuinkFlows, regardless of ink type (I've tried many...at least 50 different refills over the past 5 years.) By comparison to a smooth-writing disposable like the Pilot G2, this is dramatically smoother, has ink that is more durable, lasts longer, skips less, performs better on angles, and has ink that is significantly more waterproof. (Don't get me wrong...I absolutely love the G2 as its amazing for its price...I'm just drawing a comparison because the G2 is so popular that I think it is a good reference.) These also perform very well in both unusually light & unusually heavy pens, and with unusually light & unusually heavy pressure. Different amounts of pressure yields relatively similar amounts of ink output. By comparison, a Fisher Space pen refill in a light pen with light pressure will be almost too light to read...and many of the Parker ceramic rollerballs with heavy pressure applied will bleed through the paper. So this is a great compromise. It makes your writing more consistent, and allows you to get good results regardless of what writing style you have because the refill adapts to you rather than you modifying your writing style for the refill (this is quite a common thing these days, believe it or not.) The oddest thing is that I love the black medium, but really dislike the blue. I am not sure why, but they do not seem to perform as well based on my own observations from personal usage (as well as looking at the feedback on them.) They make a 'fine' point version of this refill, but IMHO this refill is a true 'medium' point design in terms of getting the best performance results. There are better fine/ultra-fine refills on the market for a lot less, and while it is pretty smooth, you really don't get quite the incredible smoothness with the fine QuinkFlows like you do the mediums. If you are in debate, I say try the medium first so you can take advantage of the smooth-writing. So why do I wish I did not like it? Price...as you can see, these are a lot more expensive than most other ball refills of a similar size. They do last a while, but they are nonetheless pretty expensive, and often even bulk-pricing doesn't yield discounts like other models do. So if you can live with the pricing, these are great and I highly recommend them. If not, the Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 ballpoint refill also gives excellent performance and is priced for a fraction of the Parker QuinkFlow ballpoints. ... show more

  • Short ink life span
Style: Medium Tip Color: Black
I am always enamored with Parker Pens and their products for durability and practical usage. However, for some odd reason these Parker ballpoint pen refills have a very short ink usage as it has only been three weeks and the ink ran out. I am a writer- a prolific poet, who also journals and write reviews as I constantly take notes with a traditional paper notebook. I am very disappointed that these Parker ballpoint pen refills have a very SHORT ink usage span. Also the ink is not dark as expected it is a very faint black color but not a very dark vivid color when spewed onto paper. I believe the quality of Parker Pens have greatly declined as they shrinkage in their production and assembly of refills. Great disappointment as I have to constantly re-order again one month later for the same exact product. ... show more

  • Perfect replacement
Style: Fine Writing Color: Blue
Perfect replacement for the sloppy wide ball that came with the pen I bought. I don't know why anyone wants to write with anything but a fine roller ball. I guess that's just personal preference, however. Anyway, the product saved me a trip to my overpriced office store and fulfilled my need for a replacement in the tactical glass-break pen I purchased earlier. The ink fill that came with the pen was not branded Parker, but it had the same exact top to it as the pen is not a push-button but the body twists ¼ turn to push the point out and a ¼ turn back to retract the tip. It was also exactly the same length due to measurements published on this page (or was it a consumer question/answer?). No matter, it did the trick and for a fair price I think. ... show more

  • AT LAST! THE REAL THING!
Style: Medium Tip Color: Black
Like many other people, I loved my Parker's, but when I started replacing cartridges they no longer felt like quality. What was wrong? They wrote badly, were no better than cheap stick pens, and often they jerked along when using them and made scratching sounds on the paper so audible that nearby co-workers would complain. Then, quite by accident, I found out that these cartridges made in France--France mind you!--are the real thing. The real Parker. And indeed they are. My favorite tool is back in my hands again and I am grateful. ... show more

  • A nice upgrade to an old reliable
Style: Medium Tip Color: Black
It's not easy to be enthusiastic about a ballpoint refill, but I will say that the most recent version of Parker's long-running ballpoint refill continues to improve on what was already a good product. Parker has been producing quality ballpoints for close to 60 years now, and it's nice to know that this refill can be used in a 50+ year old Jotter with no problems. When you can get a multi-pak of disposable ballpoints for about the same money it takes to purchase just one of these, a lot of people might have a hard time justifying the cost. However, if you're a person who uses a ballpoint a fair amount, Parker still makes one of the best on the market, and the quality of the refills is a big part of what makes them so good. ... show more

  • Fits and works correctly.
Style: Medium Tip Color: Black
This is an authentic Parker pen refill. Fits in my pen and works flawlessly. Everything works properly, the ball rolls smoothly and the ink comes out in a consistent fashion. The only thing I must admit I was disappointed in is that the black ink really isn't dark enough as it is dispensed from the ball point. I think I'll get the gel ink the next time. Still, does what it's supposed to do efficiently. ... show more

  • Pay attention to country of manufacture
Style: Medium Color: Blue
There is a reason why this one costs more than the other competing refills--this is genuine OEM. It must say "FRANCE" on the side of the barrel, otherwise you're getting an inferior knockoff. It's so worth the extra cost...of only a few bucks. Nothing writes smoother--even my Cross pens don't feel as good in comparison. ... show more

  • The best ever.
Style: Fine Color: Black
This pen refill is the best I have ever used. It writes very fine for writing in small areas like a checkbook register. It is always reliable and never skips. I can't say enough good things about it.
