The ink skips and the pens do not write smoothly on paper. It was very disappointing, because the colors are unique. They write better on more dense (cardboard) martial, but some shades still skip. I would not recommend if you want to write on paper.

I love Paper Mate Ink Joy and I was so happy to get these that I bought a black paper notebook and black post-it notes for them. Nope. The gel was nothing like the other 60 InkJoy pens I have. The ink was not smooth, skipped constantly, was gloopy, and so very disappointing. Does this gel ink expire? Because that’s the quality of what i got when i wrote anything with any of the pens in this package. I would get better results writing with mashed potatoes. ... show more

Bright pens, beautiful colors....except while these write VERY beautifully, the amount of ink skipping is truly a deal breaker. You could be in the midst of writing a beautiful letter to someone and BAM - ink skips, your 'I love you' turns into 'I iuvc yuu'. Really annoying. The ink is indeed bright, but definitely not smudge-proof and take a bit to dry. Not highlighter safe, you have to give it a moment to dry to not streak across the paper so if you're a lover of the quick-dry pens, you'll be consistently annoyed with these. While I do love these pens because it's a nice feel when writing, the ink skipping ruins the whole vibe while writing...I truly do hope that once Paper Mate releases the 10-pack in May, they'll fix this issue.
