This device is about what you would expect for the price. It feels very light and cheap. The left shoulder button did not work. After opening it up, the micro-switch fell off the board. However, this has not affected game play as I do not use the shoulder buttons for the games I play. The included games are hit or miss. The NES games are unplayable due to the screen being too dark, even at full brightness. Games from other consoles seem to be a little better. Most included games play OK. More demanding games will stutter occasionally and the sound gets a little crunchy. Battery life is not good. I get about 30 minutes of continuous play before needing to charge. You can play and charge at the same time though. The d-pad feels OK but the thumb stick is useless. I do like the larger display size. ... show more

    • Where are the promised "Built-in 1200 Games"?

I powered it on with switch on top but it did not seem very robust. The system booted up in Chinese but it's fairly easy to change to English. (Look for the gear logo.) The screen is bright and vivid. The audio controls are the v- and v+ buttons and work okay. It seems very lightweight and fragile in my hands. The Amazon product listing images are apparently a mixture of two different machines. One picture shows round buttons and the other picture shows triangular buttons. There is a picture of a 10 megapixel camera which I think I found but there seems to be no app to use it. There are however, apps to play music, display photos and movies. The instructions are sparse and poorly written. If I understood the instructions correctly, it appears to say I'm supposed to erase all the internal games on the system after presentation and the company is not responsible for them or something to that effect. There is a slot on the bottom but the instructions don't say anything about it or how to load additional games. (I'm fairly certain there are other ROM files "out there". I was initially happy to see 10000 game listings instead of the promised 1200. On further investigation, I discovered the listings are of the same 100 games duplicated 100 times. As soon as I got to the end of the the first set of 100, The listing kept starting over again only with the number 101, 201, and 301 as I progressed through the repeating list of games. I didn't have the patience to go through all 10,000 lines so I browsed in reverse and confirmed that games 9,901 through 10,000 were also the same 100 as the first, second, third and so forth. Where are the promised 1200 games? By the way, several of the games are displayed in an Asian character set even though the system language was changed to English. I'm sure that's because the game ROM was designed for the Asian market. I found Super Mario but I was disappointed that I could not find Dr. Mario. It runs a bit fast and there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the speed. It is still playable but the speed makes it quite challenging. There are a lot of games on the screen with more violent strategies. I haven't tried any of them because I don't care for them. If I can locate the games I like, I would say that this is a good value. One hundred copies of the same set of one hundred games is pretty strange and lame. I returned a different handheld game console because it was impossible to navigate and hardly anything would run. I don't think we can expect a lot from these inexpensive consoles. So basically this thing has nes and gba games on it. some of the games play well like dragonballz , contra, crash bandicoot tmnt etc and then some of them have some bad lag on it like street fighter. once again these are not arcade games, just low quality gba/nes games. it shows a picture of street fighter iv, but its really street fighter alpha 3 on gba with bag lag. it shows picture of new super mario 2 switch but its really the old nes super mario brothers. this thing probably has the entire nes library, so you can play donkey kong nes, maria etc. and stuff like that. but your probably just gona stick to 10 games that are on the main screen just because it takes long time to scroll. remember to use the left and right arrows to scroll games instead of up and down, its faster. i like old games, so for me this is a fun little device. and the best part of this is that you can save the game anytime you want. so you dont have to start from scratch if you turn it off, you can continue from your save point. so in concolusion if your looking to play arcade games, its best to get a handheld with a raspberry pi on it. but if you just want to play some old nes/gba games , some of them in bad quality with lag issues, this will do the trick. ... show more

This thing has tons of games including lots of rare and hacked games. It feels nice in hand. Like a psp. Many of the games are duplicates or different versions of the same game so I’d say the real number of games is closer to 500 with half of these being Japanese only. But that doesn’t matter since you will probably just download the games you actually want to play which is really easy. The main problem I’ve had with this handheld is that after charging for the recommended 4 hours I get less than 45 minutes of play of time before needing to charge again. I made sure I’m using a 3.5 v plug. So I’m guessing these thing have a terrible battery or I just got a bad batch. ... show more

There is a bit of a learning curve and a few games that are NOT appropriate for young children to play but other than that I would purchase again for any of my other children. ... show more
