  • Works great, keeps guitar in tune up to 5th fret
I play in a duo with another guitarist. She plays a Taylor GS Mini. We have tried a lot of different capos. We use capos a lot as she changes the key of cover songs to match her vocal range. This poses problems for me as I play a much longer scale acoustic/electric hybrid with a long neck. I've played and worked on guitars for over 30 years but have not used a capo extensively until now. We are never in tune when we put on a capo and never in-tune with each other. We have bought and tried clamp style like Kyser, Shubb, Dunlop and most recently the very disappointing Greg Bennett's Glider (rolling) Capo. Since she plays a Taylor so I thought about buying the Taylor capo as it's the same yolk design as the Paige. The supposed secret of the Taylor is that it has the same radius as the Taylor guitar fingerboard so pressure is evenly applied across all strings. The sellers of the Taylor Capo on Amazon don't tell you this. This is why there are mixed reviews of that Capo. There are youtube videos demonstrating that the Taylor Capo works great on Taylor guitars but try it on a Fender Telecaster and it doesn't work well at all. This Paige looks like the same radius as the Taylor, so I gave it a shot. The Paige costs a bit less than the Taylor Capo but trying it out on the Taylor GS Mini guitar, it performs the best over all the above mentioned brands of capos. Depending on the amount of tension, it pulls the g and b string a bit sharp but not enough to notice by ear. We checked first fret to 5th fret with a tuner. We could get away from having to constantly re-tune each time we move the capo. On the Taylor GS Mini, this capo DOES fit behind the nut when not in use. This may not be true on all brands and models. As for my guitar, its a 20 year old Carvin AE185 25" scale acoustic electric. It has a 14" radius fingerboard and the neck is 1.69" Wide @ Nut, 2.22" Wide @ 24th Fret. The Paige capo does work well on this guitar. It does store behind the nut, and like the Taylor GS Mini, gets strings pulled slightly sharp but I don't need to retune moving it around between the 1st and 5th fret. Due to the neck width I cannot move the capo higher than the 7th fret. I have only one song that I fake a mandolin sound at the 14th so I have to use my Dunlop Capo for that. Overall the Paige Capo is sleek and non-intrusive and seems to work well for us both. I'm ordering another right now. ... show more

  • Easy Capo
This is a well made capo for the price. Works just as expected. It’s nice to have it ready to go and not clamped on my neck. It’ll fit into the case while attached. This is just an all around simple yet effective tool.

  • Was suggested to me by my guitar Hero
Great suggestion from our local mandolin/guitar Legend and my friend Mr Steve F. This capo is cool looking and does the job better than the cheaper ones and it’s quicker in between songs. On and off is seamless as well but I just leave it on the nut most of the time. Fixing to buy 2 more. Hope this helps someone make a decision. I stand behind it, for what that’s worth. ... show more

  • For strummers
This really is a nice capo. Easy to adjust tension and well built. This fits my 1 inch thick neck of my acoustic guitar which the earlier version didn't. I dont think this is the best choice for players that bend and take leads though. I found the daddario ns capo does better. It's just does not keeps strings in tune after playing licks etc...For strummers though it works well. ... show more

  • My Most used and only guitar accessory
I have been using and getting complimented about the Paige capo many years now. It's a solid product, it lives in the guitar, where it's supposed to be. I'm buying a new guitar this year, and this is the only extra thing I'm buying for it.

  • Great Capo
This is the best capo I've ever owned in my nearly 50 years of playing. Will easily slide to the 5th fret of my Collings dreadnaught, and as far as I want it to go on my 80's telecaster. It does not get in the way of my fretting hand, in fact, it's less intrusive than my unnamed spring loaded clip on capo. It seems to have a very good clarity to it, possibly because it's thin. I had no problem putting it on or taking it off. If you can string your own guitar then you should be good to go with the on/off thing. It would ride behind the nut on my Collings or tele if I wanted to leave in on, but I won't. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my Paige capo (the nickel one). I just wish I had known about these before I purchased all the other capos I own. ... show more

  • Good Design
This capo allows for even pressure on the strings across the whole neck which helps to reduce the chance of string buzz. Easy to loosen enough to slide up to the headstock when you don’t need it while still keeping it handy. Well worth the upgrade.
