I bought this on a whim for a siding project figuring I’d just return it if it was garbage but I’ve found it surprisingly useful for siding gables. It’s aluminum, lightweight, and the adjust screw can be flipped to the other side easily. One thing that others have said is that this little screw will unwind itself eventually - I think I went through 40 planks before it popped out. I was lucky enough to find the screw and avoid the twisty tie repair, but I recommend using some lock tight on this screw right when you get it out of the box! Happy siding everyone :) ... show more

    • Excellent guide!
I read the reviews about this item and wondered about it’s quality, but having to be accurate with cuts on a current project I gave it a try. Reviews said it was flimsy and you could lose screws easily, so I paid close attention to making sure the screws were tight. I love this scribe, it has a great design and is easy to use with perfect results. This item is probably not going to work for you if you find yourself frequently throwing your tools into the back of your truck at the end of the day, or if you give it to your lead man of a large crew. Treat it like a precision instrument, i.e. a laser level or transit and it’ll work just fine. The cutting guide works perfectly with the SS424 Snapper Shears. ... show more

Although I have not used it, It looks well made, with the exception of loose screw. Fixed that before I even use it. Amazon, on the other had, I thought I was ordering a pair, not so. only one. Amazon really need to work on their discretion of items sold.

This worked great. Easy to use. A real time saver Update 2/1/2020 Yes the gage still works great , however for a construction site professional use tool it kinda fragile. Mine is now not useable because one of the screws fell out and was lost on the site. For what this cost it should be made better. Now I have to find a screw that will work to fix it. ... show more

This device is okay. I tried to use it earlier to measure the angle for my trim, but it didn't work so well. Hopefully when I get to siding it works better! UPDATE: I now have 1 side of my garage done that I was actually able to use this product. Honestly this product is great. I feel kind of stupid however, because I didn't realize it slides through and does both left and right sides. Because the screw is dimpled and doesn't come out, I thought it was poor design, but really it's a poor user. Once I accidentally figured it out that it slides through for both left and right sides, i'm super happy. Perfect every time.     • Screws fall out
The product seam well made except the tiny screws fall out. As I undoxed it two screws fell on the floor. I put TheadLocker on each screw so that doesn't happen on the job site. This is an oversight in the manufacturing of this product.

I love this tool. It makes getting angles super easy. I use it on a daily basis for installing siding. Cuts my time in half. I definitely recommend this tool.
