This vent did exactly what I needed it to do and looks great under a soffit. But I had to face screw it into the soffit because the clips are a little high. It’s meant for mounting in 1/2 or 3/4 inch thick plywood. Not a thin soffit. But other than that I would’ve given it 5 stars

I have an exposed dryer vent that leads out into my patio. Recently I have been removing various bird nests from the exterior of my home. The displaced birds have been stuffing plant material and debris in the exposed vent thinking it will provide shelter. Every time I use the dryer all that nesting material blows out across the patio. Product seems to be well-made. Very easy to install. 4 inch foil vent tube fits around it perfectly. Attached with foil tape and snaps up into the Soffit. Very happy with the product.

Installation went well. I hope the integral screen doesn't clog as the holes are small. Also I am hoping this white material does not discolor or become brittle after direct exposure to UV/sunlight on south side of house.

    • Louvers do not close.
The product seems to be built pretty well. It’s kind of strange how there’s no holes to screw it into your soffit. There’s a little plastic flare out pieces that it seems like they’re supposed to hold it in but you’d have to have the perfect distance between the wood thickness for the plastic pieces to work. If I end up keeping it, I’m gonna drill holes through the white outer piece to attach it to the house. Probably going to return it because it looked to me like the louvers closed and only open when the fan is running, which is what I wanted. ... show more
