Style: Pacsafe Metrosafe Ls350 Anti-theft 15l Travel Backpack - Black

Description

The revamped Metrosafe LS350 anti-theft 15L backpack from Pacsafe stays true to its classic design heritage, while providing functionality and seamlessly integrated security technology. The bag’s fabric is embedded with eXomesh Slashguard, a lightweight flexible, stainless steel wire mesh that protects your gear from a quick slash-and-run theft. Flexible, stainless steel wire runs through the adjustable Carrysafe Slashguard shoulder straps to help prevent slashers from slicing through and running off with your gear, while the Turn & Lock Security Hook attaches the bag to a fixture for added security. The Lockabout Security Clip and smart zipper security provide multiple layers of protection and lockdown points for zippers to help protect against pickpockets. The RFIDsafe blocking pocket helps prevent your data (such as from e-passports, credit cards, and key cards) from falling into the wrong hands. Additional Metrosafe LS350 features include zippered main and front pockets with organization for cards, phone and passport, an iPad/13-inch Laptop compatible sleeve, two side stretch pockets, and adjustable shoulders straps. It holds a volume of 15-liters and weighs just 1. 5 pounds. Pacsafe keeps travelers one step ahead of the game by keeping their gear secure from opportunistic thieves with a wide range of stylish adventure backpacks, leisure bags, urban bags, women’s bags, and camera bags, as well as luggage and travel accessories.

  • Compact, Easy for Travel, Great for Short People

I spent hours over the course of a few weeks looking for a new bag. My REI dumpster find was finally wearing out, and it was too bulky and heavy to commute with any longer. I also had a big trip coming up and wanted a smaller replacement, but one that was durable and would last me for years. Here's my profile: 5'2", commutes up to 3 hours a day on public transit/walking, travels by airplane occasionally. What I get out of this bag: 1. It doesn't make me look like a first grader on the first day of school; i.e., it fits my small frame well and isn't oversized. 2. Because of its smaller size, it doesn't hurt my back. The weight is distributed very well and doesn't pull my shoulders like other bags do. It doesn't contain a waist strap, but it doesn't need to. 3. Adequate space. For a commute it is perfect. It holds a 1L Nalgene in one side pocket and my coffee Thermos in the other. Inside I can hold a 13"-15" laptop, a book, a notebook, a small lunch bag, a sweater, and several odds and ends that can be accessed conveniently. I used it as my carry-on on the airplane and it fit nicely under the seat, thereby increasing its convenience over my last bag. 4. Confidence in its quality and safety. This thing is well-made. It's nondescript, and if I'm wearing a black jacket, people probably won't even notice I am wearing it. Good for not looking like a dorky tourist or prey for bagnabbers. You can buy locks for the zippers, but I don't find them necessary due to the clipping function; it takes a while to unclip and therefore acts as a deterrent in itself for anyone behind you on the bus/metro interested in getting inside. If you are planning on a long hike/camping trip or hauling multiple textbooks, this is probably not the bag for you. They do have a 25L version of this bag available if you need more space, but for me, this size was perfect. I'm very glad I chose this bag, and I plan on using it for its lifetime. ... show more

  • Perfect for travel

I spent a lot of time researching safety in preparation for our trip to London and Paris. There were a lot of videos warning about pick pockets and how to be safe. I settled on this backpack in order to carry my small 13" laptop, and some personal items. I specifically picked this model for the size, as they have restrictions on many tourist attractions in Europe. The most restrictive sizing was for Buckingham palace, and this fit well within. It started out a bit awkward trying to get into the clasps, but within a few days I was a pro at sliding the zippers out of the locks. I'm larger at 6'3" and I didn't feel like I was wearing a mini bag. It did get a little hot with it being mid-July, but I learned to live with the back sweat. I would absolutely recommend this bag to anyone traveling overseas. It had plenty of room, had great security features, and was ideal. ... show more

  • Spacious and secure
Color: Black Style: Pacsafe Metrosafe Ls350 Anti-theft 15l T...
Great item! This pack is the perfect size for metro commuting and trans-US travel. The pack carries securely outside in mesh pockets two 20 oz water tumblers and inside a laptop, hefty wallet, beauty products, 2 sets of keys, and a pair of ladies shoes. I've even run to catch a bus with this pack fully loaded and didn't lose a thing! It is a little stiff the first few weeks of wear, but ride it out. The pack softens with use and becomes super-comfortable. Also, the security features are rather awesome, and I'm particularly happy that the zippers can be further secured with travel locks. I even used a small travel cable lock to secure the pack to the airport chair I snoozed in for an hour or so and felt safe doing it. It's perfect for the metro and I don't worry about getting pick-pocketed as opening the secured zippers is quite a feat. Lastly, while it's not a tailored backpack, it's not so big and unwieldy that it looks overly casual or dude-ish. While the zipper secure mechanisms take time to adjust to using, it's worth it. We like it so much that we're getting a second, probably in the red if we can find it. Well worth the money. ... show more

  • Durable, but not much room
Color: Black Style: Pacsafe Metrosafe Ls350 Anti-theft 15l T...
I've taken this backpack on several trips in the past few years. Pros: - durable - has locks to deter theft - lots of compartments to stay organized - lightweight Cons: - not very much room, you can't fit as much as you would in a normal backpack - not sure how much the locks will really do to stop a thief Overall I definitely recommend getting theft proof travel gear for peace of mind, but the most important thing is to be alert and aware of your surroundings. ... show more

I bought this backpack for a Girl Scout troop trip to NYC. I wanted to focus on the kids, not worry about anything getting stolen. (To be fair, NYC felt really safe once we got there; I probably didn't have to worry about pickpockets.) I should have practiced opening the bag's security clips at home because I ended up fumbling to open them the first couple times I had to get things out. But I learned how to open the security clips quickly - and now I can't imagine traveling in a major city or theme park without a bag like this. The small size of the bag forced me to limit what I brought, but I was still able to fit my wallet, cell phone, a portable battery charger, a DSLR camera, a lightweight cardigan, a rain poncho, a water bottle, 8.5"x11" health & permission forms, a small Ziploc bag of first aid items, and more. I wish the front had a non-secure zippered pocket for smaller items like lip balm or Metro tickets, but there are plenty of smaller pockets inside. Here's a tip: If you're going to keep the zippered pockets securely fastened, you should plan which items will go in each section - and always put them back in the same place. Several times, I forgot where I put my cell phone or wallet - and ended up having to "unlock" and open/close each section to look for them. Since the backpack is pretty small, if you fill it too full, you have to dig through everything to get to items on the bottom - or take everything out. But even when the bag is filled and feels a little heavy, the straps are really comfortable and I never got tired of wearing it. It's the perfect size for walking around a city. ... show more
