So far so good. Nice quality, sturdy and looks great. Works as described. You can easily tear off one sheet at a time with one hand. Occasionally you may get two but thats only if you pull too hard causing the roll turn to much past the grip handle.

Looks good and is sturdy but it's not a 1-hand operation - you still need to stabilize the holder when tearing off a paper towel. I just needed a nice looking paper towel holder for the kitchen counter and this works well.

I just ordered this paper towel holder for my husband as a "gag" Father's Day gift because he has been complaining about our super basic paper towel holder for years. I am not sure why it got some of the negative reviews as ours works perfectly! One-handed paper towel removal was not going to be a "deal breaker" for me, but I have been able to grab and pull with one hand without any problems - whether it is a brand new roll or the roll is almost out.
