This helmet seems to be pretty solid. My child is accident prone but be hasnt worn it yet so I dont know if it will stop a head injury from a head collision with a bus or anything but it seems to be quite solid. I think your child will love it. I dont know your childs likes or dislikes but its a helmet! Whats not to love. Its got padding and a hard exterior and it protects your skull and brain meat, so just buy it already. Why are you even wasting your time reading reviews. I would suggest going one size larger than you need. Just for the fact that you have good adjustment on the helmet. Mine fits like It's custom-made for me - but I am concerned I will not have room for a knit hat in the winter. This is a much stronger PVC than the thin coating of plastic on a standard bicycle helmet, so it can take an impact more than once without being destroyed! I have ordered 2 helmet models, K2 varsity pro + Outdoor Master skateboard.. In 2 sizes: Medium and Large. SIZING: Large worked the best for me, average size male, 190lbs, the Medium is too small and would probably work best for females. SHAPE : Outdoor Master feels square, not rounded, inside and less ergonomic. It is not snug to my head shape. K2 feels round inside and fits better for me. It's snug and stays put when shaken or bumped. HARDWARE: Almost the same for both. It looks like it's designed and probably manufactured by the same factory. :) Outdoor Master has a soft chin guard. It's not a big deal and not critical for me. VENTILATION: Practically the same. CONCLUSIONS: How it fits on you is more important than features. Because it's your safety. I recommend trying a few brands and models to find the one that fits you best. It's k2 in my case. ... show more

I liked the appearance of this helmet. It is simple and traditional. The adjustment on the back enables a perfect fit. The helmet sits comfortably on my head, and there is adequate ventilation. I can wear the helmet comfortably for hours. It seems sturdy and well made.
