    • If I could legally marry an album, this would be The One.
I've been in love with this album since it came out when I was in 8th grade, and it was one of the obvious first choices to buy on vinyl when I bought a record player last month. It shipped super fast, and plays beautifully without any issues. I can listen to it over and over, and it never gets old. "Endgame" sounds especially gorgeous. I once read an interview where Michael Stipe described it as a "take a bath and cry about the world" kind of song, and I think about that every time I listen to it. My 10 year old has ranked Shiny Happy People as one of her top favorite songs ever since it appeared in some movie she liked a few years ago, and I love to put this album on when she's listening, so that all the other songs can also burrow into her little brain and plant the same seeds of joy they planted in mine at age 13. ... show more

    • Great REM. Classic album.
Classic album. Harmonies between Mills and Stipe are some of their best work. It is an amazing road trip album, where you are taken on an authentic journey of highs and lows. If I had one criticism, REM should have left “Shiny Happy People” off the album and saved it to put on a romantic comedy film Soundtrack. ... show more

    • Great pressing of a classic
When this record came out I had been a longtime REM fan. I loved all their records but this one was a letdown. Of course, I had just gotten to college the fall begore this came out and had discovered jazz. So I was fully immersed in that and also was hoping for a more political record more like Life's Rich Pageant or Green. However, I now love this record and it has some of my favorite REM songs like Country Feedback and Near Wild Heaven. This is a fantastic pressing as well. ... show more

Out of time is a great 90's R.E.M. Album with memorable songs like Losing my Religion and Shiny Happy People. It also features many more melodic, beautiful songs like Near Wild Heaven, Country feedback, and Me in Honey. It may not be my all time favorite R.E.M. album, but I consider it amongst their greatest and was happy to add it to my vinyl collection. ... show more
