  • JETHRO TULL sets are FULL of extras at an affordable price! STEVEN WILSON MIXES!!!!!
So, I have all of the TULL box sets, and while this one is $85 and a bit more than usual, I am not concerned a bit about spending the money. The album is a masterpiece, and there is a boatload of demos, alternate takes, bonus unreleased tracks, a complete live concert from the tour, STEVEN WILSON mixes including 5.1 and HD recordings as well as the original mix, the book and nice packaging. 8 discs total! Each disc is jam packed with material. Now for those complaining about the price, if you are a BEATLES fan, you had to pay $125 for the Revolver 5 cd set. One of those cds only had 4 songs that would have easily fit on any one of the other four cds. And, if you think this is expensive, take a moment to look up the price on the upcoming WHO set. It is $300. Like someone else said, if you can't afford it, don't buy it. I bought a couple of copies of each of the early box sets and sold 3 of them when they went out of print. I got enough money to buy a new home computer! These not only sound and look great, but they are an investment. Sept 1st is going to be set aside for a total listen to everything in the box when AMAZON has it on my doorstep! So, $85 is a GREAT DEAL for such a great album! Thank you, Ian Anderson, for keeping these within your fans budget. BRING ME MY BROADSWORD! UPDATE 9-1-23 Received my set today, and this is more than I had hoped for! The 5.1 mix is perfect! So clean and well balanced that it puts all other 5.1 mixes to shame! What was once a bit dark on the audio top end is now clean and bright. The Bonus tracks are incredible, and I have only gotten through one disc of those! The packaging is beautiful with every bit of information you could want in regard to the release and tour. The ONLY thing I find fault with is how the discs are housed in the book. They are really difficult to get out of their spots and I decided right off to simply put them in individual paper sleeves. The only flaw in the entire project, and since it has NOTHING to do with all the great music, it's not a problem for me. Ian Anderson really treated us fans well with this treasure trove of demos, live, outtakes, remixes and the original recording. Well worth the wait!! ... show more

  • well worth it
$85 is well worth having 5 cds and 3 dvds plus a great booklet.Compare it to what Kiss wants for their boxsets or how about Brian May and Eddie Van Halen project 2 cds for over a hundred bucks. If this was an Eagles box or a Kiss box it would probably be over 200 bucks

  • Once they're gone, they're gone
Been a Tull/Anderson fan since 1971, my first album was Benefit. I waited too long for Songs from the Wood, and paid the price off of EBay, ($299.00) I'm not ashamed, great buy. $85.00 is a good/fair price for a boxed set of 5 cds and 3 dvds from a true musical genius, in my humble opinion.

  • Then Don’t buy it if you don't want it.
They have (as always) set the bar on releasing great sets that are affordable and well worth the price. Instead of complaining about it, just but something else and keep your lame 1 star reviews to yourself

  • $85? Are you kidding me??? I DO NOT NEED 5 CDs and 3 DVDs! I need ONE 5.1 Blu-Ray, nothing more!
Firstly, this is one of my top 3 Jethro Tull albums, so this is not about the music. I have been waiting for its Deluxe Edition! Alas... Yes, I'm a fan, but not THAT type of a fan who'd pay extra money again and again for the same music and for demos, extensive interview with a sound engineer , endless different editions of the same album, previously unreleased live versions of the songs I know by heart, etc. Some other people do, I'm sure, but not me. I DO NOT NEED those 5 CDs and 3 DVDs! I need ONE 5.1 Blu-Ray, nothing more! And I DO NOT want to pay $85 for what I don't' really need! Why three previous releases cost between $35 and $45, but this one cost that much? Why don't you offer a few different editions for different kind of fans with different prices? ... show more

  • $85? IAN AND RHINO have “lost the plot.”
I, completely, agree with Nessy. Ian and Rhino have LOST THEIR MINDS by nearly DOUBLING their PRE-ORDER a$k for this LONG-AWAITED, 5.1 bookset!!! These TULL booksets were once the benchmark for content and quality - along with “reasonable” pricing. I have ‘em all. Multiple copies. This ONE will NOT be purchased by me (YOUR CORE AUDIENCE WITH DISPOSABLE INCOME) until there is a MAJOR price DROP! Shame on you, Ian and Rhino! This is an example of ABJECT GREED, therefore you have “LOST THE PLOT.” ... show more
