This product makes a big improvement in my evenings, because I can actually SEE what I'm doing now. It's lightweight, with good illumination for my work. The only thing I don't like so much is the higher-power magnification zone, which is a very small circle at the bottom of the overall magnifier. I really like this item. I needed a light to help when doing crossstitch. OTT is a wonderful brand and I own several of their products. The magnifying was an added bonus. There is a little bit of a learning curve to get it adjusted to the right length but once you find it you are good to go.

Easy to adjust with great lighting. The large magnifier makes it perfect for handwork, the smaller built in magnifier is perfect for super fine detail work.

This lighted magnifier has made a world of difference! I was about to give up doing cross-stitch, which I enjoy, because of deteriorating vision (normal aging). This magnifier sits right where I need it to in order to work on my lap, no matter where I am. It has replaced the glasses/magnifier combo I was trying to use, as well as the need to be in perfect lighting conditions. I really trust OttLite brand lighting, but was disappointed with this purchase. I have been using their full size, standing, lighted magnifier at home for a few years and it is well designed, durable and very helpful. I needed a smaller, portable lighted magnifier for needlework when I travel and assumed OttLite would offer a similarly good product. Unfortunately, the light source is meager and the magnification too weak. I am going to keep trying to make it work for me, but feel like they could have made a much better product. ... show more
