  • Great 3x Barlow lense
My telescope came with a set of cheap eyepieces and a 3x Barlow lens. My telescope isn’t a top of the line telescope, but more of an entry style. It is a gskyer sky explorer 130eq 130mm with a focal length of 650mm and a speed rating of f/5. The Barlow that came with it was a little rough, but this Barlow really helped clear up images for me. I was able to see Saturn with the original set up, but it was quite blurry. You could see that there were rings, but the image was pretty rough. The Orion Barlow helped clean the image up pretty nicely and I could see more definition in the image. The image of Saturn and its rings were clearer using the Orion Barlow and the cheap eyepieces that came with it. Seemed to be able to provide a much clearer image than when I used the original Barlow. This lense is clear. It is larger, but very well made. I just put in a purchase for the expansion set of the Orion edge on eyepieces to go with this Barlow. I’m pretty sure this set up will provide me clearer images from my telescope. ... show more

  • As advertised
Good solid construction. Antireflection coatings do a great job. The brass compression band is a C-type band. When I first tightened it, I didn't notice that the screw was positioned right on the open section; I ended up marring my eyepiece body. Once I noticed that, I rotated the brass band and it works well now. I don't feel like I'll ever need another barlow! Update: The instructions say to place the barlow between the diagonal and the eyepiece: this gave me blurry views. I placed the barlow between the diagonal and visual back and now the images are very clear! ... show more
