But they’ll love it. Until they realize they have to tend to a stupid toy nonstop and they finally just let it die so they can play with something better. Nice thing is it can be played with and restarted at any time so it’s been something the kid loves. And even better, it has a silent mode so parents don’t have to go nuts listening to sounds. Having had one of these back in 1997, I can safely say everything is as expected and good! I've seen bad reviews about the tama going off every 5 seconds, but that's just the baby stage and it only lasts about an hour. I have heard complaints about it being loud, and those are accurate. I don't remember it being that loud in 97, but when you're a kid, loud noises don't bother you as much. The sounds on these are loud enough to interrupt conversation. I even saw a complaint implying someone had received a defective one because there was no backlight and had a good "elder millenial" laugh at that. Most of my complaints revolve around comparisons with the Tamagotchi Connection, which I bought in 2004 and kept and rebooted recently. The icons on the Original re-release are in a weird order, the gage is not organized nearly as neatly on the screen, and most important of all the buttons on the Original are not nearly as responsive as the ones on the Connection. The buttons thing is probably my biggest complaint and besides that I think it's good! ... show more

i absolutely loved my tomagatchi but then i got a weird screen that didnt quite look like much 1 month in and FINALY found out it was trying to show that the battery needed being replaced now works fine again, i remember the battery lasting a lot longer as a kid though

Sound is extremely loud but it’s a gorgeous shell. Don’t play with it much since it’s just another remake of the gen/p2 but this one is definitely needed if you like glitter and stars. A great addition to my collection. Pixel contrast is great as well!

Per my 7 year old..."This is great! There are a few mistakes but otherwise it is great! The first thing I like about it is the growth. It grows randomly. I don't like the game, it doesn't make sense. I like that it can get into trouble. I would rather it die instead of it going back to its planet."

Got this as a gift for my mom, because she remembered me playing one as a kid. She has turned the poor thing into an alien so many times, I don't even think she touches it anymore. But honestly watching her trying to take care of it for days was pure entertainment 10/10.

Did tomagatchis always die so fast?! I got this for my daughter and she loves it. I love that she gets to share a bit in my childhood. That being said why don't I remember then dying at like the drop of a hat lol. Oh well. It's enjoyable while it lives and then you can restart

perfect keychain size! Tip: if you do not want your tamagotchi to have sound push buttons A and C at the same time and the sound will go off. To turn the sound on again push A and C once more. perfect virtual pet!
